I know a number of people here who watch 24 religiously like me would like a thread to discuss the show's episodes as they air. I know this worked during the last season too. So here it is. So for anyone who caught the first two hours of the show tonight, what did you think? NOTE: SPOILERS WILL BE PRESENT ALL THROUGHOUT THIS THREAD, SO YOU'VE BEEN WARNED. Tonight's episodes were amazing. My jaw dropped, like, 5 times in the first 15 minutes! They really did live up to their reputation of delivering plot twist after plot twist, shock after shock, in the episodes! First off, the biggest twist had to be Palmer's assassination. I totally did not see that. It caught me so off guard! Here we are, two minutes into the first episode of the fifth season, and one of the main characters from the previous 4 seasons, a staple of the series, was killed off that quickly?! Wow! Then, minutes later, Michelle's car blows up when she tries to turn it on, and Tony's seriously injured. I think the words Tony uttered about "She had to go somewhere, and I think I'm going with her." are really going to hurt him. It sounds like he planned to kill himself and Michelle by those words, but maybe that won't turn into a problem for Tony. Who knows. It's pretty much impossible to predict things in this show. I find 24 is one of those special shows that just hook you in so well that you feel so amazed when the ending credits hit. I've never had such an emotional attachment to a show like this, it's just too great. Your thoughts and predictions?

I can already tell this is going to be a good season. You'll have to give me a day to digest everything that went on today and then I can tell you what I think will happen tomorrow. P.S. - He does NOT look like a Frank. lol
Yah this was a pretty sweet premeire. This will be the first time that I am actually watching the season weekly. Before I just watched the DVD's or just downloaded it formt he internet and watche dit in a big clump. Either way its a kick ass show but yah like I said its gonna be hard to watch it week by week. Yah its hard to make predictions about this show so I am not gonna try. Obviously Tony is gonna return because he is listed in the shows cast. I expect him to be back by show seven or eight. I kinda thought that Michelle was gonna get killed after I saw that Palmer was in the season and got killed then I saw Michelle in the show and both her and Palmer were not listed int he shows cast for the season so I figured her fate was close too. Anyhow here is a small synopsis of tomorrows 2 hour episode taken from Globals website (the TV company that carries 24 here in Canada): "Still on the run, Jack tries to follow up on the leads he has developed; the president's arms treaty becomes jeopardized when innocent lives are endangered and CTU operatives deploy." This is a small synopsis of episode 5: "The CTU must investigate its own staff; a reunion between Jack and Audrey becomes awkward; as the national threat worsens, President Logan begins to break down."
I actually just started watching the show yesterday with the two premieres, and I see what the buzz is about it... I have a lot of episodes to watch.
This season is going to be a good one. Hopefully it can kick ass just like the last season. And trust me, I did not see the first 15 minutes coming either. Although Palmer shocked me more than anything.
Like I said after Palmer died and I saw Michelle in the show I knew she was gonna die too. Anyhow Cameron it isn't hard to get one of the first 4 season and just sit down and watch it in like a week or less. The show is addicting.
I think the Writers of this show just woke up one day and decided that some people needed to die. Hmm Lets kill the ex President in the beginning. COOL LETS KILL PEOPLE. If that's the only way they can now get a shock factor as a form of a twist then this Season will get dull halfway through. But I must admitt those deaths were pretty cool.
In order for the whole storyline to work, for Jack to be framed, they had to die. I think it was one of the most unexpected things that could happen, very inventive for the writers. Nobody thought that would happen. That's why people love 24, for it's twists and turns that always keep you waiting in suspense.
i agree, that was an awesome premiere. The deaths totally suprised me. I think this will be the best season yet
Hahahaha, you make it sound like your above everyone else or at least me because you have college. Well not necessarily "above" but you make it sound like I have no life and you do because you go to college. In fact I go to college full time and work part time. It's no hard to free up time to do other shit you just have to sacrifice sleep in order to do it when u have a full schedule. I am in business a very competative program and I can also sacrifice putting effort into my school work to free up more time and have fun instead of going to school and studying and doing school work with the rest of my time. I must say I have done quite well for myself as I have gotten no lower than a 3.2 in any semester. Anyhow I you put 24 into perspective that is 24 episodes that are about 42 minutes long. So each disc would contain about 3 hours of the show and 6 discs per season. So that would be like watching the lord of the rings series twice one movie a day for 6 days. I totally agree with MArk that it was a great twist. I mean I didn't tihnk Palmer and Dessler were gonna get shot but I knew they wern't gonna be in the seaosn because they were not listed in any of the casts for the seaosns. But yah how the twist took effect in that Palmer and Desler were gonna get assiniated and Jack was gonna b eblamed for it I never saw coming. I also thought Jack got out of the country instead of just being like a 10 minute helicopter ride outside of Los Angelas. Either way this is shaping up to be a great season, because it looks like it will have more political stuff like the first seaosna dn that is what made that such a great season.
I swear Ryan, you have turned 'misinterpreting posts' into a art form. The fact is the work here at Bethany takes up a huge part of my time. Secondly, we can't exactly just go to a TV and watch whatever the hell we feel like because of TV hours, and lastly, I would have to go to an RD and get them approved. As for the other random crap that you were going about on, well, congratulations, but I'm not you. Would you like a cookie for your accomplishments? How about a pat on the back?

I mean I didn't realize that you lived in some kind of a dorm i figured that you lived at home or out on your own or something. Anyhow not sure why you took it to heart but hope you are able to sleep tonight. Wouldn't want little Cammy to loose any sleep. Edit: As for the cookie is that like some kind of slang to offer me some kind of friendship? Cause I mean I would love to be your friend Cam, can I call you Cam?
What? I'm pretty sure that has no basis. Monday's episode was great, as well. I'm really starting to like Sean Astin's character. At first, he seemed like an annoying prick, but now that he's saved Jack's and the tactical team's lives, I have more respect for him. I don't like how by the book he is with the rules and protocol, though. The whole arresting Jack thing should lead to an interesting storyline next episode. I wonder how and if China may find out? Interesting, indeed. Let's stop being at each others throats all the time, eh guys? Just pick your battles.
I got this feeling (along with my dad) that somehow, someway...Russia and China are going to team up with each other to try and take out us. It's kind of obvious in a way.
I watched this show religiously the first season it was on, but after that I missed a bunch of episodes in Season 2, and it's one of those shows where if you miss a bunch in the middle, you're lost everywhere after it. I'm gonna buy the first 4 seasons on DVD and hopefully get caught up by the end of this season.
Haha, yeah. That's true. You don't want to miss an episode. I've missed one single episode over the years but I ended up downloading it, so all was good. I'm surprised they're not re-airing the first four episodes, actually. Otherwise, I'd tell you to look out for the rerun of this season's premiere.
Yeah, that's probably the best bet. If you have a fast computer and you missed an episode...download it off a torrent. I'm sure since alot of people are checking it out, it should work out.
