"From Zero" World Tour continues tonight in Paris, France! Let's quickly recap all the major events of the past two months before getting into tonight's show. September was an incredible month to be a Linkin Park fan. The band returned to the stage on September 5th with new vocalist Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain, announcing the release of their new album "From Zero" and premiering the lead single "The Emptiness Machine" in the process, as well as announcing the first six dates of the From Zero World Tour, whose first show followed only 6 days later. The band went on to play 5 more full shows before the month was out, premiering a thunderous 2-hour setlist consisting of new material, their greatest hits and some lesser-known fan favorites. They also appeared on the "Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon, and premiered another new song, "Heavy Is the Crown" on September 24th. In early October the band headed back to Los Angeles to rehearse and prepare for the release their first studio album in over 7 years. In the second half of the month, the band launched a scavanger hunt, much like the 2012 one which ended with the premiere of "Lies Greed Misery" right here on the LPA. This years' hunt gave fans around the world the opportunity to catch glimpses of the lyrics to "Over Each Other" in their hometowns, and upon the finish of the scavanger hunt, the new single was released on October 24th. At the end of October, the band held an album listening party for fans in London, which several of our members attended - check out their thoughts on the new songs here! As we prepare for the release of "From Zero" in less than 2 weeks, November promises be another landmark month for Linkin Park fans. And to kick it off, let's turn our attention to the band's show in Paris on Sunday evening! The band returns to France for the 19th time to perform in Paris' La Défense Arena. Their last show in France was in Clisson on June 18, 2017 for Hellfest, and it was a somewhat controversial performance, as some of the primarily-metal festival's audience was less than appreciative of some of the band's then newly released material from "One More Light". Regardless, the band rocked their set and Chester went on to call the French fans "awesome" on X, then Twitter. Check out a video of the debut performance of "From the Inside" on the 2017 European Tour below. The band will certainly receive a warm welcome on Sunday, as they perform the sixth full show since their return with the new line up. Their last show was on September 28th in Seoul, South Korea, where they performed "Set C" version of their current setlist, which included "A Place For My Head" in the middle of the set, and the new single "Heavy Is the Crown" as the penultimate track, before finishing with "Bleed It Out" as usual. For the first time since 2017, Mike rapped a verse from "Reading My Eyes" over the closer's extended outro, and Emily handed Phoenix the microphone to sing the first lines of the second chorus. Check out a video of the awesome performance below! In the past few days, the band has promoted "The Emptiness Machine" with a recording from their concert in Seoul at the NRJ Music Awards in Cannes, France, as well as "Heavy Is the Crown" with a performance at the 2024 Worlds Opening Ceremony in London, England. After the Paris show, the band heads back to North America to perform in Arlington, Texas on November 8th, then moves on to South America for a show in Bogota, Colombia on November 11th, before finishing the tour with back-to-back shows on November 15th and 16th in São Paulo, Brazil. Watch out for a tour recap on our forums after the final show of the year! Tonight's show could also bring the live premiere of "Over Each Other". Do you think the band will retain the same setlist from the September concerts, or will they make some changes to freshen things up? Are you coming to the show? What are your expectations? Join the discussion in our forums! Shows remaining: November 08 - Dallas, Texas November 11 - Bogota, Colombia November 15 - São Paulo, Brazil November 16 - São Paulo, Brazil
Most probably the premiere of OEO tonight. I do hope the band keep a rotation spot for a THP song in the set, think that's a cool way to keep that album included. Let the November craze begin!!
The hype is real!! My fourth time seeing them live! In 2 hours I m driving to Paris!! Who else is coming???
Mike looks so happy on stage in these shows! He is having the time of his life with this comeback. This In The End video is gold.
Love it. She did great!! Great to see she got on guitar duty, but does that mean there were three guitars or did Mike play keyboard instead or something? Also two things I noticed, someone had sweaty palms (understandable) and she mixed up the lyrics a bit on the last chorus, but idgaf, it sounded very good, and the crowd was singing along, I would've done so too! This is so adorable
Another video of Over Each Other. You can pretty clearly hear a synth pad sound that comes in during the second and final chorus. It's reminding me of the Living Things days when there was a great buzzing synth line in In My Remains that wasn't super pronounced on the album but comes through loud and clear live. Also this performance in particular reminded me of a song called The Ghosts of Beverly Drive by Death Cab for Cutie. Maybe because Emily left the bigger chorus vocals to the backing track, it let the guitar and drums take the lead a bit more.
Have to say, her vocal prowess is incredible. She didn't flinch for that last note whilst playing guitar. She's been near perfect for all of her own songs so far.
Read couple of french press reviews about the concert, and it's been unanimously described as a glorious return. Can't stress it enough, the band live is in amazing shape right now. The energy and joy of both the members and the fans is truly contagious.
