It is November 11, 2024, and Linkin Park is bringing the From Zero live show to Bogota, Colombia, This is a special one as it's actually the band's very first show in the country. They will be performing a sold-out show at the 24,000-capacity Coliseo Medplus. The last shows the band played in South America more broadly were in May 2017, a month prior to the release of their seventh studio album One More Light, meaning that fans in the region have waited quite a while for Linkin Park's return. The 2017 South American tour leg saw the very first shows the band would play in support of One More Light. The first tour date, a headline set at Maximus Festival in Argentina, was broadcast live, so fans worldwide were able to tune in for the live debuts of a few new songs including "Talking To Myself" and "Battle Symphony", as well as witness the breathtaking crowd participation that would happen on "In The End": A few nights ago, Linkin Park performed at Globe Life Stadium in Arlington, Texas, where they had a more conventional stage with a catwalk. This is the same stage setup used in the previous show in Paris earlier this month, and possibly what will be used for the remaining headline dates this year in lieu of the 360-degree arrangement used earlier in the year. Three support acts played ahead of the headline set: alt-metal icons Helmet, who served as a major inspiration on Linkin Park's 2014 album The Hunting Party, with frontman Page Hamilton even making an appearance on the song "All For Nothing", the genre-defying Jean Dawson from San Diego, and, thirdly, Bad Omens, a band that is currently one of alt-metal's brightest stars, and who went hard with a set that included three surprise guest appearances by (respectively) Poppy, HEALTH, and ERRA vocalist JT Cavey, all of whom contributed to the band's recent guest-heavy album. Then, Linkin Park took the stage themselves, and delivered a setlist with two live debuts that none of the fans who attended (or even just followed along at home) will soon be forgetting. Ten songs into the set, the band made its first detour from the expected setlist and brought out Helmet's Page Hamilton; they then surprised fans with the first live performance of the Hunting Party cut "All For Nothing", a song on the album that Hamilton appears on. This is the second song from the 2014 album getting a long-overdue live debut during this tour cycle; "Keys to the Kingdom" was included in the very first show in Los Angeles in early September, and has been played regularly ever since. Together, these are the only songs from The Hunting Party to appear during this cycle at all. A few songs later, the band revealed that they had a second surprise, and suddenly launched into the world premiere of "Casualty", an unrelenting hardcore punk monster from the upcoming album From Zero. This is a song which the band members have repeatedly cited as an album highlight in interviews, and many listening party attendees have echoed that sentiment throughout this month, adding to the hype. During an extended eye-of-the-storm section in the middle of the song, Mike Shinoda insisted the crowd form "the biggest pit you can", and they obliged, as the song exploded into a final bridge and chorus rivaling the heaviest performances in Linkin Park's history. To accommodate these modifications to Set B, "Keys to the Kingdom" was not performed despite being named on the setlist, and "Over Each Other" (in its second performance ever) was moved from the middle of the set to near the end, taking up the spot that is usually reserved for "Friendly Fire". That song got its live debut during the opening date of the From Zero world tour and, with this change, was omitted from a 2024 headline set for the first time. Linkin Park had three acts opening for them at this most recent show, but, in contrast, there appears to be no opening acts for this show in Bogota. The stage is set for the band to continue playing "Casualty" after such a successful first run in Texas, but whether it will become a staple of the tour or merely be relegated to a rotating spot remains to be seen. There is obviously also a chance that more unreleased music from the new album From Zero could be debuted - from the impressions we've gotten, this new music seems to have been built to be played live. Following this tour date, From Zero will finally be released on November 15. Linkin Park will be in São Paulo, Brazil for two shows on (respectively) November 15 and November 16, and the first of the two will be streamed live. These would appear to be their last tour dates for 2024, but this year has certainly proven that Linkin Park don't need to give their fans much advance notice, and it's unlikely that the band will suddenly take time off with the new album release so imminent. In the meantime: are you going to this From Zero show in Bogota? Are there any songs you're excited to see Linkin Park perform? Let us know on our message board!
I still cannot believe that I had been waiting for them to go to Colombia ever since I was little and now they go the first time that I am out of the country :c I have been a bit depressed about it but still I am so happy for my friends there that will be able to see them and finally live that dream we have had. Hopefully the band has a great time there and the altitude doesn't hit them too much, some singers have had issues with that.
Imagine that, they're already playing 4 songs from the new record while it's not even out yet. That's promising for the future. Really hoping for a max of FZ cuts to get played live at some point, if not all of them. Hasn't happened since MTM I think.
That's the one silver lining about how short the record is. Hopefully they can stuff the setlist with as many of these tracks as possible.
I also think it truly showcases the new era when they play a lot of the songs from said new era. It's also probably the best way to highlight's Emily's skills without fans feeling iffy about her singing something Chester sang.
