Linkin Park band members Mike Shinoda and Colin Brittain have popped up in the credits for a newly-released song by Inglewood alt-rock outfit FEVER 333 called "NOSEBLEEDS". The song is paired with another called "MURDERER" in a double-single release, as part of the lead-up to their upcoming studio album DARKER WHITE which drops on October 4. Per the official credits for "NOSEBLEEDS", Shinoda and Brittain were involved both in the writing and the production, working alongside other names. The song combines swing-inflected classic rock rhythm with dirty guitar riffs, all with a hip-hop attitude; this combination will naturally remind longtime Mike Shinoda fans of the Fort Minor deep cut "Cover And Duck". Over this musical backdrop, FEVER 333 vocalist Jason Aalon Butler delivers aggressive rap verses in a style reminiscent of Zack de la Rocha, and follows them up with an anthemic chorus about doing it for "the homies in the nosebleeds". Linkin Park fans may remember FEVER 333 for their cover of the iconic LP hit "In The End", released exclusively to Spotify in 2020 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hybrid Theory. At the time, FEVER 333 had a totally different line-up, with frontman Butler now being the only founding member still performing in the band. "NOSEBLEEDS" is not the only song on DARKER WHITE that Shinoda has helped with, as a description of the album provided by Japanese music outlet Toky Tunes mentions him contributing to another song called "TOURIST": You can listen to the song "NOSEBLEEDS" on platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube. It sounded familiar on the first listen, I’m glad you mentioned Cover and Duck because I couldn’t quite place my finger on it. The instrumentals definitely have similar qualities. I quite enjoyed the track if I’m being honest, I’ve never really given any time to Fever333 but since Enter Shikari did a track with them (Losing My Grip) I think I’ve become acquainted with Jason’s voice, and appreciate it more.
