Just in case anyone wondered, I believe he's fractured a rib or two and damaged ligament in one of his legs, which is fortunate. Disclaimer: If anyone thought my original post was cold it was because I was already aware that he hadn't been injured particularly seriously (he was able to finish the set, at least) and I did find Liam's reaction quite funny. And yes, I don't like Noel Gallagher at all but I don't think I dislike him to an extent where I'd wish serious injury upon him.
I WAS THERE! Ahhh! It was insane! We didn't think they'd come back out, but they did and played about 5-6 more songs, then Noel went up to Liam and said something and Liam went up to the mic and said "this'll be our last song" and they played I Am The Walrus. I figured it was one of those things where the band says that and comes out for an encore, but the crew came out and started dismantling the stage so everyone left. I didn't get to hear "Champagne Supernova" because of that asshole. I wouldn't be surprised in Noel's back was fucked up. That's probably why they called it.
That brings up another point. Things such as this and bottling performers and so on are about as pointless as can be. You could probably be doing something much more worthwhile, it can be dangerous in various different ways, and it potentially ruins it for people who are actually trying to enjoy themselves.
I don't understand how he could've gotten around the security. He must have been in the VIP section to the left of the stage. He did run from that direction, behind the drums, and up the right side to hit Noel. Apparently Noel fell on his guitar monitor and crushed his ribs. Kudos to him for continuing to play, in that case. I'm sure he would have kept going if he could bear the pain.
Hahaha. Well they had this Virgin Music booth where you could sign up for the chance to get VIP passes. He must have been the lucky son of a bitch who won. And the unlucky son of a bitch who got the shit beat out of him backstage. The assailant is going to have to go into hiding. The press has published his name and hometown. I would not be surprised if this isn't his last beatdown (not advocating that, just saying).
Part of me thinks its funny because the Gallagher brothers are fucking douchebags but the other part of me think its pretty much the dumbest thing I have heard.
Same here, I absolutely cannot stand the Gallagher brothers, I believe they are two of the most ignorant and arrogant people in the entire music industry. However, if you're going to assault a musician, do it somewhere else. Obviously you have to have a pretty personal vendetta against someone to do something that drastic, so why bring 20,000 other people into it by shoving the guy on stage? Not that I'm an advocate of assaulting anybody period, but I think if you have that big of an issue with somebody, it should stay between you and them. All this guy did was screw a bunch of other people out of seeing a normal show like they paid for.
