I have heard a lot of people who like nickelback, but a lot of people (not here) who haven't. so. . . How You Remind Me (9/10) Too Bad (8/10) Too Bad (8/10) Silver Side Up is an awesome alt-rock album. Well, they're not really alternative anymore. It starts up with "Never Again" a hard-edge song that some may find a bit objectable, because it is about an abusive husband or boyfriend from the point of their child. "How You Remind me" is one of the best songs there. It's about not knowing who you are and someone showing you. I think. "woke up this morning" is one of my favs. Can't quite get a meaning, but it still rocks. "too bad" is about having a deprived childhood, and someone he knew not being there for him. "just for" is awesome. Kinda reminds me of LP's songs. There is a soft but very edgy verses, then a hard chorus. It's about hating someone for doing something bad to a loved one. "hollywood" is one of my not favs. Don't know why. "Money Bought" is another. It's about greed and making an idol out of money. and being stuck up. They insult a hobo. "where do I hide" is awesome too. Can't tell you what it's about. don't know. "hangnail" is good. it has a linkin title. Has nothing to do with the song. "good times gone" is about looking for the good times you had while you were young, but not finding them. All in all a great album. A couple parts you might not like, but if you listen straight through you will feel a lot better. Nickelback's 'Silver Side Up'-(9/10) P.S. Hope this wasn't too long. if not that's too bad. no pun intended. Good Times
I don't want to be a pain, just trying to figure out why you would click on a review that clearly says the name of the band and album, yet you post something saying you don't like it? Makes about as much sense as taking an umbrella in a submarine. No offense, but was posting that really necessary?
Probably not. Anyways, I want to get Silver Side Up, and their new album as well (which I think is being recorded right now).
Yeh. They have covered a song by Elton John with Kid Rock and they did another song for another soundtrack :wth: I haven't got any of their albums yet though I know someone who is mad about them and has the MP3's off Hesher (their demo album tape thing)
Okay, i'll back off on this one before I get a warning. I won't say I'm sorry for confronting you about it, but I won't bother you. Just think about the absolute innecessity of that post. Pissed but controled LinkinTheory
I don't really like them because I haven't hear much from them. But i do like the song they have on the Daredevil album. Any recomendations?
If you really want to her some of their best, 'Just For' and "woke up this morning' are my favs. I haven't heard the song off the Daredevil album, but the Chad Krouger or however the hell you spell it is on the Spiderman Soundtrack,'Hero' with Josey Scott from Saliva. He has the deeper voice on that song. And he sings first. Chad WTF is the lead singer of Nickelback. And he wrote the song.
No it wasn't, don't do it again.
um im not sure what im not suppose to do again so could you please tell me?
um im not sure what im not suppose to do again so could you please tell me?
I think Will is asking that you don't come down on other peoples favorite bands, if you read the second post of the other bands rules by Kat, it states that.
I think Will is asking that you don't come down on other peoples favorite bands, if you read the second post of the other bands rules by Kat, it states that.
So if i edit my orginal post and put why I hate them then will it be ok?
Anyhow though Nickelback is an awesome band. They are probably my second favorite band next to LP. Nickelback is from my home town here in Canada so that makes it so much sweeter. I have seen them play live so many times and have got backstage passes and stuff so many times. Yah their first album Curb was pretty good, not really any knock out singles on it, but it shows that they have potential and could easily be big some time. Then their second album "The State" was a pretty good album including such songs as: Breath, Leader of Men. Then of course their next album Silver Side Up we all know (those of us who like Nickelback) was pretty awesome, this is probably the album they used to break into the states and become huge. Plus he has also done collaborations with Josie Scott and Santana and turned those songs into huge hits. So I am unpatiently waiting for them to come out with their next album which will probably be due sometime late this fall. In case nobody else knew but Chad Kroeger was the one that hooked up another Vancouver based band called "Default" and got them off to a good start. By the way Default is due for another album here in the late summer or so. Chad Kroeger has also signed the band Theory of a Deadman onto his record label So a guy who has really oly been on the scene for like 5 years is doing pretty good for himself and the rest of his mates.
Nickelback rules. Now that I think about it, I think that they were the band that got me into rock and not P.O.D. or Creed as I first thought. I heard "How You Remind Me" in 2001 and downloaded it, but I never got anything else. Their album was the first rock album I ever bought; then P.O.D.'s Satellite and Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory. Silver Side Up is a great album. My favorite songs are "Never Again," "Too Bad" and "Good Times Gone." All amazing songs, though. I can't wait for their new album.
if you hate all these so-called "pop-rock bands" so much, then go to the Metallica forums or some other established Metal band's forums and complain there. holy crap, people like to post reviews of their favorite bands, not get harassed for liking one.
