OMG, I'm so glad I found lpaccociation.. hope I'll get to know everyone here. I've some comments on the forum skin tho, actually, one comment. Why are there so much dots? Using "dashed" and "dotted" does give a sophisticated look, but not when overused..
Hey, welcome on the boards! Check the Guide in this forum (Feedback&FAQ) and have fun . Well, in my opinion, it's perfect like it is . But let's see what the other people think !
I'm no newbie to forums lol.. in fact, I run a big community myself.. I guess I just needed a break. 'nother thing I noticed is .. where's quick reply? noo...
Welcome. Not that I'm going against what you think, but I find 'quick replies' to be unprofessional. It's like for lazy people (no offense). I think the 'dots and dashes' really make the LPA's skin different from other skins people usually see. Usually the border-lines are solid and there's too many of those. And yes, I am a skinner so I've seen a lot of skins go by :chemist:.
Yes, yes, I know that, I'm a skinner too. It does put LPA's skin apart from the others, but looking at the post reply template.. dont you think its a little too much dashes? As for quick reply. Not if you install a ib1.2 styled fast reply that uses JS.
I didn't mean the way it's coded or anything--I mean as it's used. There's no need for it when the "add reply" is right there, you know? I mean, I don't think your finger is going to swell if you click one extra thing . And well, my computer must suck or something because all I have to do is scroll down a bit and *poof* the vertical dash lines turn into solid lines . Doesn't bother me none, but everyone is different.
Not trying to hate on your feedback, it's appreciated, but I don't see the sense of signing up and immediately slamming the site's layout, but whatever. :wth: Welcome to the forums. PM me with any questions.
One of our staff members (Alex) designs all our forum skins, and he used to work for Invision, so we trust him 110% Thanks for the comments, as always, we'll try and make the next version more better.
Alex now works for Sparkart too - which is a good advantage to have ;p Anyway, welcome to the boards mate - you probably know the routines so I won't insult your intellgence by repeating everything >_>' So yeah, see you around =)
lol, didn't intend to. Guess I'm just used to introducing myself while commenting. ; Great.. you should probably ask him to add spaces before and after the "»" arrow thingie used in the breadcrumbs.. I'm sounding stupid again. I guess not. And, yeah, lol, it happens to me too.. I think its the way IE renders the pages. I hate IE, but, what the heck. Opera crashes too often, and I hate Gecko. And one more question, not that its wrong or anything, but why are you guys still using 1.1.2, lol.. I can't get the quotes right.
My vote goes down on: 'We can't be arsed to upgrade' Or perhaps we're still waiting for a totally secure version - you don't have to instantly jump onto a new piece of software as soon as it comes out. I mean look how many bugs Microsoft XP had when it first came out.
Meeeeeh I heard it can be hacked into even quicker than this version. But that's just what I've heard. We might upgrade soon, but Alex is really the only one truely qualified to make that decision
The only reason that we are still using v1.1.2 is because we are waiting for the next fully-stable release before upgrading. Other than that, there is no real reason. Thanks for your comments, though!
We will be having v2.0 when its out A forum is a forum, it shouldnt really matter which version it is as long as it works.
Hello there, welcome to the LPAssociation and thank you for your comments! I don't know if this was Alex's intention but when I look at the dashes on the forum and the site I almost get a feeling like the website is a package and the dotted lines are the perforation(sp?) that you must tear to get into the package and see its contents. ("Tear along the dotted line..") Yes we are on the 1.1.2 version of Invision Power's forums but we're not about to upgrade the forum software when the new software is only at "alpha 2". That would be foolish.
