After about a week's worth of teasing on social media, Mike Shinoda has officially released the track and music video for 'Ghosts'. Pre-orders should have received a download link via e-mail, and the video can now be viewed on YouTube. This is expected to be the final track released off of Mike's forthcoming solo record, Post Traumatic, before its release on June 15th. What do you think of the new track and video? Come and tell us on our forums!
Whoa whoa whoa, way to objectify a strong independent woman. Wool-d you stop the misogyny before one of us have to sock you in the face?
Ghosts is such a beautiful, emotional song! I was a bit sceptical of a sock puppet video at first, but it turned out really cool. Also am I the only one who thinks the front facing skull in the bridge looks a bit like one of Chester's tattoos? Maybe I'm just imagining things.
This track knocked my socks off! No seriously it's a really catchy and fun song I really like. I really really like it and it's stuck in my head. However I don't like the sock puppet. And HOW did I miss this yesterday? He was teasing it for a week!
I find this song to be super lean and not repetitive. It's not nearly as bad as Invisible for example. The "ghosts" hook only happens twice, the "lights go down" has different instrumentation behind it each time, and third time it also has some new lyrics. I'll agree "there but never there" isn't the best, but at least it adds something new. The intro before vocals is short, and the outro is very minimal as well. Compare that to the many many times we hear the word "Invisible" in that song, or even "The Final Masquerade" in final masquerade, and this song is super short and sweet imo.
