The Negative One was more of a nod to some of the band's songs from the first two albums. I'm starting to like The Devil In I more.
I like it quite a bit. It has a really nice atmosphere. It's more diverse than The Negative One. We're seeing the mash up of Iowa and Vol. 3 that Corey was talking about. dig it.
I think I've heard a bit of live strings on TDII. Would love to hear some touches of symphonic metal on their next album.
The new album is titled .5: The Gray Chapter, and is dropping October 28th. The album will contain 14 tracks. (Source)
How did the Halloween Cobra Kai cover beat put the Devil in I cover? That's may be the dumbest covers ever. Good name, like the tribute to Paul. But the cover is fucking lame.
The album cover is indeed stupid. It looks to be a Paul Gray tribute. There better be some emotional shit there.
^I'm sure they're just trying to be overly artsy or some shit. AAlso, love the name of the last track. Badass. But does this kill the idea of double album?
That'd be an argument I'd love to see filmed. "Just fuckin' let Clown do it! Who really care?!" 14 tracks is still pretty solid, of course XIX is bound to be an intro, assuming the go 5/5 with the first track.
