My thoughts exactly.

 

Well they've at first described it as a concept album, I believe before it was initially released. Then they kinda went back on that note somewhere. Mike was saying that it's not exactly a concept album, even though it definitely has that vibe.

And I could be wrong. ^^

I just hope the transitioning works with each song. It's what they're great at. So it's what I'm hoping for.

 

I'm just curious, how old are you? I just hit 30 and I have been following this band for 12 years as well. I feel so old!!

 

I wasn't a concept album. It had a recurring theme, but it wasn't a concept album.

 

I know. But initially before it was released, Mike eluded to it being a concept album somewhere.

And in a way, it depends on how you view the album as you listen to it. I definitely call and treat it one even if others don't. I guess it doesn't matter, but I like the theme behind it ^^

 

Actually, he said that it had certain themes that tied it together, after it was released (and a while) he just straight out said it was a concept album. And it is, really.

 

I got chills hearing Castle Of Glass!!! Amazing!!!

I've never seen Chester so excited in a interview. This album have to leak today...I can't wait anymore.

Anyone has confirmed which song comes after Castle of Glass?? I don't know, the quality is not that good but at first listening I thought it was I'll Be Gone...

 

Before...after...I can't keep track of it all in my head. ^^

But like my favorite albums have had a theme or a concept album vibe to it: A Thousand Suns, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, 21st Century Breakdown, American Idiot, American Gangster, The Wall...etc.

I'll probably end up loving this album within the tenth listen or so. I keep listening to the snippets. Castle of Glass may take a while for me to warm up to. ^^'

 

It doesn't tell a story. It isn't a concept album. It has recurring themes, that is all.

 

Seems like people don't like CoG much. :/ (I'm not listening to the snippets, so I can't make an opinion on it.)

 

It's called interpretation. It's a lovely thing. What I get from the album is probably vastly different from yours. In your mind you see the theme that's there. You don't see a story like I do. When I listen to the album there's several stories playing in my head each time. I interpret it as a concept album. Maybe I'm just weird like that. I've done the same thing with Minutes to Midnight too. ^^

 

The previews fucked my expectations in the ass ...HARD ... really really really can't wait for the album

 

If you love LP experimenting with new sounds, I guarantee you you'll like Castle of Glass. Personally, I love where this song is heading towards with its folk rock sound and I'm so excited to hear more

 

I think you sould wait at least the whole album release!!! But it´s normal to get a mixed reaction when something really different shows up!!! But relax man...a lot of people might be feeling the same!!! Give it a time...

That's totally fair enough man! But, just to compare ATS with, say, American Idiot by Green Day, American Idiot tells the story of a Character called St Jimmy. Whilst ATS is an album and not a collection of songs, it doesn't have a clear story. But if it does for you, good for you.

 

Did the music stop when chester was in the interview? (I watched it on mute)

 

I've got to say that these previews sound way better than what I'd previously imagined them to be.

Castle of Glass doesn't sound too folksy, but it still sounds really good.

And is that Mike singing "Cause I'm only a crack in this castle of glass"? Cause, damn, he sounds good.
