New Album Release Date?

    In what is sure to spark a blanket of controversy over the next few months, MTV Italy has listed a tentative release date for Linkin Park's third original album.

    The currently untitled disc is scheduled for a May 26th release date, however, note that the 26th occurs on a Friday. All CDs released outside of America are released on a Monday, therefore, the date should only be taken as a rough estimate.

    Drummer Rob Bourdon has recently pointed out via email that the band will be going into pre-production soon and announced that Linkin Park planned to start touring "mid-late '06".

    May 26 is my birthday. I doubt the album will be out in 2006 to be honest.

    I think it will be out in 2006. Maybe not in May...they'll probably end up pushing it further back towards October or something

    They might finish recording the album in 2006, but I don't think the album will be in stores in 2006. They'd have to do mixing, promoting, etc...

    Didn't Meteora take 18 months to finish?

    I don't know, I think it may be out this year, just really late. Either that or Jan-Mar 07.

    Guys. Mike said on CD USA that the new album will be out THIS YEAR. Therefore, I believe the band is farther along then they'd allow us to believe.

    Yeah, but May? I can't see it, I definately think it will be out this year, I'm looking at September - November time, but May? Naaa.

    Hmmm..yeah because they are already in pre-production...yep, i'm betting that album to be out this year

    Keep in mind that Meteora took 18 months b/c the guys were on the road while putting songs together, as opposed to having 3 un-interrupted months of serious work for this album.

    It'll be out by 2006. I'm pretty sure of that. When they told us about Meteora, it was 6 or 7 months prior. Meteora was released in May, this will probably be out towards the end of August/Septemer/October.

    Great news... I hope the album will be out asap and concerning the tour, I really hope that they will get to Denmark. Their last concert here was cancelled :(

    Yeah, the 25th & 24th internationally. That was a good month, I saw them live for the first time that month. Ahhh, good times. Hopefully they'll do another LPU promo tour in Europe this time around too.

    I'm totally stoked for their new album. Personally, I don't think the album will be out in May b/c it's way too soon. There's still tons of work to be done. They're not even in the studio yet.
