I think Mike should do some regular singing...I mean I heard his voice in P5HNG Me A*WAY (damn it's hard to remember how to type that)
and he has a excellent voice...but I know it won't happen because then people will deffinently think they are a 'boy-band'
But I deffinently want to hear something different, but with the hybrid touch they have ;)

I think what would be cool guitar wise would be Brad playiing rhythm and then have Mike play some lead, not like solos or nothing, just some little parts..

I have always thought this an I still do think LP should make a song about being happy, you know or about how good life is becouse i know mine is :D and it would nice to relate all my happiness to a song B)

I think Chester needs to scream and yell more, not just on the bridge. I think bass needs to be LOUDER and guitar needs to be a little heavier. Mike needs to rap more. We need some more of 'Remove the broken parts you know were wrong and feel the calm when the problems all gone', and 'You can't tempt me with rhymes that are empty'.

    B)

I agree with all that. But I dont want chester screaming all the time, that can get annoying as hell. Maybe just more melodic BUT aggressive singing on Chester's part. It's possible to be melodic yet sound badass. Can we say Disturbed? lol.

We only wish Mike and Chester could return to the calibur of the lyrics on the EP but we'll only find out in time.

No, it wouldn't be anything close to a boy band. Just because there are 2 guys singing, it doesn't make it a boy band.

He's talking about how...dare I say..pretty Mike's voice is. Mike has a very soft melodic voice from what I heard on Live and Texas. The only clear example of him singing aggressive is "Forget our memories"..

I think Mike should at least use his regular singing voice for at least 1 new song because- well, I don't mean to sound teenie or anything but he has a beautiful singing voice and I think he should express it more often. His singing is covered up by his rapping (before anybody gets mad I just have to say that I'm not dissing his rapping because I LOVE how he raps!!!) and he should throw some singing in as well. Plaese don't anybody get mad at me for posting this  :( :wth: I'm just saying my opinion. :D :mike:

Wow, lots of good ideas have been thrown out there. I like a lot of them too... Like many have said, they need to go back to the lyrical styles of the EP, and I really would like to hear Mike actually sing more on the next one... he obviously wouldn't be singing on the whole album, but possibly a song or two. Oh yeah, and some guitar solos would be nice!!

omg!!!!!!!!!! Thats exactly what their against!!!!!!! Man, u probably dont read about then as much as i do. They said the reason they are always talking about pain and sufering, is b/c life, no matter whos, isn't all happy and peachy! Thats why LP doesn't like ppl like punk rock or punk pop b/c all they talk about is either that life rules, or about love (well usually, their are some exceptions) and thats totally not what life is about!!!!!!!! Life is about pain and suffering and learning how to deal with problems and, eventually, falling in, love, but not for a while. So, they couldn't write a song about how "wonderful" or "happy" their life is!!!!!!!!! :mike: :chemist: :chaz: :joe: :brad: :phoenix: :rob:

Uhhh... ok. Yes, life isn't peachy all the time, but then again it isn't a b*tch all the time either... and if they choose to make a positive song, then what can you do about it?

Personally, I'd like to here some more songs like With You and Papercut, but it's the band's decision, so I don't really care. (Just as long as it comes out this year... )

I agree that they should develop their lyrics more, Hybrid Theory was much better in that regard. I also think they should make some positive songs. Living in a state of misery is not a way to live a life, they need to cover a broader spectrum of feelings.

I don't really care what LP does as long as it's good and represents LP. HT was better to me because it represented LP. They had Papercut, With You, Forgotten and In The End which, to me, where the perfect blend of rock, rap, electronica and turntabalism. Just mix that with the EP lyrics and I'm good.

It doesn't matter to me what they write about, as long as it's wrote in a mature way. I'm sure they are a lot happier and they don't have to go through all of the angsty emotions they once did. They've really already covered everything that has really bothered them through the years in my opinion.

The cool thing is, they don't female dog about their life like most bands do.

Better lyrics! You guys are suggesting more 'poetic' lyrics, right? Here's a great example of one by Opeth:

    HARVEST
Stay with me awhile, Rise above the vile
Name my final rest, Poured into my chest
Pledge yourself to me, Never leave me be
Sweat breaks on my brow, Given time ends now
Spirit painted sin, Embers neath my skin
Veiled in pale embrace, Reached and touched my face

Into the orchard I walk peering way past the gate
Wilted scenes for us who couldn't wait
Drained by the coldest caress, stalking shadows ahead
Halo of death, all I see is departure
Mourner's lament but it's me who's the martyr

Maybe they won't be as good as that but they should write more complex lyrics.

    Other things:
    - Guitar solos: For a guitarist to say they WON'T do guitar solos and not compensate for it in a different way is really unacceptable to me. Either do some Brad, or be more creative with your guitar work.
    - Melodic guitars: Do more stuff with melodic guitar passages, do an acoustic song. That way, the bass and drums can be brought out and Mr. Hahn has a lot of room to lay down his funky beats
    - Better Rap lyrics: Get back to the EP-style of rap lyrics, mike!
    - More developed songs: This is my biggest complaint. They are way to overstructured and simplified. They use only two chords in many songs because thats the chord progression of the chorus and if they develop anything at all, they do it in the bridge. Those are only usually 30 seconds MAX
    - Get Joe more involved: He's the creative centrepiece of the band, he should have much more of a prescence in LP's music.

That doesn't sound teenie at all.

I think Mike should do some old-school rapping. His rapping on HT and HTEP was awesome and it was not that good on Meteora.
