I was wondering if some people on the LPA have a playstation 2 with an network (internet) connection.
Is it worth buying it , or is it crap.
Just like to know what you're experiences are...

My friend has one, as far as I know, its alot better than X-Box. There is no fee to pay to use your PS2 online. All you need is the kit and an internet connection.

I heard that you do have to pay for certain games. Like FFXI, I think it was.

I remember it was a FF game that my friend mentioned.

Yes you have to pay for FFXI, but that's because its a massively multiplayer rpg and stuff is stored on servers, not because of your ability to access the internet. <digression> Oh, and that game rocks </digression>

Oh, i didnt know you had to pay for certain games. I was at Best Buy and i was about to buy a network adapter and i asked a guy about any payments i would have to pay he said i need to buy some kind of broadband service from Best Buy and for the first 3 months it would be 20$ then they would boot it up to 40$ a month! He didnt mention making payments for certain games but i was buying the adapter to play SOCOM 2 online. I think that guy was just lying to rip me off, i hate Best Buy. The only reason i go there is because they have the cheapest CDs out of all the stores around where i live.

well for PS2 internet you need

PS2 Network Card - £29.99 UK Price - Fits into the expansion bay easily

Broadband Internet Connection - You dont need to pay any extra to use it for your ps2, you just need it for prosumable you already have it for your PC - £25.00 a month UK

No other games cost as far as i know, except from the new final fantasy, but the price is cheap, about £7 a month or something i was told

    It's 12 - 13 US Dollars a month for PC, I believe it's the same for PS2 but I'm not sure.
