I was thinking about buying an NES system. I wanna get the feeling I got when I was like 5. My parents think it's rediculous but I really want one.

Should I get it? Who has one? Opinions on NES?

I loved the thing. Mario and Duck Hunt are probably the best video games on earth. A lot of people would wanna get an X-Box with [Stupid Voice] Realistic Graphics [/Stupid Voice] but I love old-school stuff like that :p

YES!! Good man! The NES is my personal favorite system ever, I've had so many good memories with it, and it has such epic games. Try out Kid Icarus, Super Mario Bros., Metal Gear, Castlevania SoTN, ahhh, and whatever catches your eye.

Wow, I have hundreds of ROMs on the computer but playing some of them aren't the same.

    Some of my favorites are:
    Megaman series
    Mario/Duckhunt and Mario 2 and 3.
    Excite Bike
    Treasure Island

Nice. You're right, ROM's just aren't the same, so I kept all my old systems and still play them now.

Eh, I say get an emulator and a game controller for your PC, but sometimes that isn't as nostalgic as getting the old school system. I wish my Genesis would still work, it's my all-time favorite system. I say go for it, NES is a good console.

Hey I have a job so I should be able to buy whatever I want right  I think I'll go to gamestop sometime this week and pick up a used one. I think its about 50$

I used to have thousands of games for the NES even the Friday The 13th game which I must say kicked major ass.

I told my dad to look for my SNES and NES next time he has the chance, I have some good memories from those games.

    If they're dumb. :p

$50 for a SNES is pretty hefty, check around and even order off of eBay or somewhere else for that kind of stuff.

hey, got some good news for all you NES fans. They're releasing a GBA SP limited edition style and the controls look exactly like the old NES controllers. They're also releasing a set of "Classic NES" games, like Super Mario Bros., Excitebike, and I think Mega Man. Can't remember when it's going to be released but i read it in a magazine
