There's apparently some writing competition with a cash prize... Thus I am entering Here's my entry below, please tell me what you think of it, thanks "Serenade Sweetly" Serenade sweetly; my innocence has broken, As chords and progressions float around in my mind, And intricate verses and verbs filled with anger, Flow along to melodies that are clean and refined, So sporting battered jeans and, of course, broken dreams, I feel that the music has become a part of me, And its message flows freely against the cool breeze, Finally coming together as she touches the keys, Shivering slowly; it captures me in the moment, And reverberates happily around in my chest, Words sung poetically radiate from her vocal chords, As drum fills glide smoothly aside intoxicating breaths, The way she projects her sorrow in harmonies, Makes me wonder about who's feeling worse, And her passion for fantasies forced into song, Create feelings of love that shall never disperse, Last night she changed my flawed percept of heaven, By reciting that song with acoustic endeavour, Whoever thought music would create such a passion, Inside a person so obsessed with hate and her fashion, Who would have thought it would take such a realization, To discover that music is so much more than a statement? It's a dramatization of her admiration, Or a proclamation of complete disbelief, But one thing we're sure of, except for our love, Is that music accentuates every emotion, And therefore they're both linked, and both from above.
