JAKUB PATOK - CHCIAŁBYM MARZYĆ My new album “Chciałbym marzyć” (eng. “I Would Like to Dream”) is available now! “Chciałbym marzyć” is a journey through my thoughts, inspirations, doubts and insecurities. The album starts with the utopian “Dobre dni” (eng. “Good Days”), after which we are immediately confronted with the reality in “Mgła” (eng. “Mist”) and “Fale” (eng. “Waves”). Next there appears gloomy but dreamlike “Niewiele” (eng. “Little”), which transfer its mood to the following song titled “Na horyzoncie” (eng. “On the Horizon”). “Chaos” pictures struggles with creativity and the lack of inspiration while “Cudowny świat” (eng. “Wonderful World”) presents thoughts about social subjects. The last three songs, “Czarny kłębek” (eng. “Black Hank”), “Warto” (eng. “It’s Worth”) and “Złe dni” (eng. “Bad Days”), explore the topic of the acceptance of the existing state of things and joy coming from what one has, simultaneously directly contrasting with the lyrics of the first three songs from the album. “Chciałbym marzyć” is a melancholic but optimistic album. After all, life consists of ups and downs, sorrow and happiness... My goal was to create something honest and genuine – in harmony with myself, both musically and in life. I have worked on this album for the last two years and I am very happy that I can finally hand it over to you. I am inviting you to listen, delve into the lyrics and sounds of this album. Giving it a listen right now and I think it sounds nice. It reminds me of things I used to listen to in the early 2010s, like the Arcade Fire albums from that time. Good to see people delivering full-lengths, must've been quite the challenge
Thanks a lot for listening, I really appreciate that. Well, creating full-lenght albums is a challenge nowadays. Listeners expect new content every month and it's not easy to be quiet for months to work on the album. However, I like making albums much more than releasing individual singles. There is an idea, a concept behind the full-lengths that makes them a coherent and intriguing work of art. "Chciałbym marzyć" is actually a bit of a concept album - there are many links between the songs and there is some sort of a sequence going on in the album.
