I managed to click on one of those picture links which game me a virus and is now sending it to all my contacts pretending it is a variant of some sort of picture. I closed Windows Live Messenger for now but don't know how to fix this...any suggestions?

I fail to see how this is not obvious. Would one not typically run a virus scanner if they are infected with a virus?

I ran Symantec Antivirus and Adaware and they didn't stop it.

Try AVG or NOD32 for a good virus scanner.

I don't think Adaware would really help you as it's a virus, not adware or spyware, etc.

I think NOD32 fixed my problem.

Man Norton is crap, I got it free at my school but it isn't even worth that...I wouldn't use it any more if you paid me lol.

    Thanks Tomi.

Norton is the equivalent of dust when cleaning in RL.

Yes, that makes complete sense, trust me.

Honestly, the only reason Norton is successful at all is because of it's past. It used to be one of the only virus scanners, so people remember it's name. But throughout the years it's been getting shittier and shittier. But people still remember the name, and think it must still be good, without doing any research at all. Kinda saddening.

like, norton will find viruses but it most likely won't be able to do anything about them, which really sucks. frankly, for me, it's better to not know about the viruses than know about them and be unable to stop them.

Apparently the recent versions are good, but I personally still don't trust it as much as AVG and NOD32.

I work for Dell, and I deal with Norton and Mcafee on a daily basis. Don't use either of them. Norton is a CPU hog, and Mcafee is a pain in the ass, not to mention half the time you can't register it when you purchase it, and from what I've heard from referring customers to them for Mcafee help, their customer service is complete shit.

Nortons shit, trust me, I'm using it

McAfee's better than Norton in my opinion, but I'm just a lowly normal PC usuer, so yea, I don't know that much outside my own experiences lol
