Get ready to shit your pants at the new Mortal Kombat trailer. Nobody knows if it's a movie or a game, but with E3 coming up, it could be the latter. EPIC.
I was just watching some old fatalities and animalities on youtube and they I come here and see this. What are the chances edit: just finished watching, it's awesome!
It goes a little overboard with the exposition, but I like the more realistic approach they took -- especially Reptile's design. Hopefully, this is just a teaser trailer for a game and not (dear lord) a new film.
They said they were going to reboot the franchise soon, so this is probably that. The old MK was getting dry and moving away from what they wanted. Even the MK VS DC game couldn't help it really. I think they want to go back to the dark, gory origins that it originally entailed.
I guess not, they must have decided against it by just reinventing them maybe. I mean, they've already killed off Johnny Cage. Haha.
Yeah, no matter what version of the game it is.. That guy just can't stay alive lol.. It seems like they are taking a Twisted Metal Black approach to this. Making it all dark and creepy. The orginal MK wasn't really dark and didn't get to late in the series. I mean from 1-3 they took like a colorful comical approach to villains until Shinnok and Quan Chi. Then it got darker
I don't know, I think back in the day MK1 was pretty "dark" for the time. I think it started to let up a little bit when they introduced "friendships" & "babalities" etc in the sequels, but Goro & Shao Kahn were pretty badass originally. I even quite liked Kintaro & Motaro and don't think they were comical. Maybe Chameleon and Noob Saibot were a bit light hearted back in the earlier sequels, and yeah, they tried to make it more serious with the later 3D games, but we had already seen so much gore and darker games at that point it didn't really have an impact as much as it did back with MK1 IMO. This new trailer is exciting whatever it is, I like the realistic approach they have taken with this trailer and am really excited to see what it develops into.
Fuckin' awesome. I did a little research. MK:Rebirth is presumably a short made as a promotional pitch towards Warner Bros. Here's to hoping WB bites, and the film takes off. Loving the cast so far. Michael Jai White is the man.
I could never take Shao Kahn seriously. The dude said you suck after he beat you. Idk it makes me laugh lol. but that could be because MK 2 is the ONLY MK to date that I haven't beaten yet hahah(I CAN'T DO IT!!). And yeah it was gory but not exactly dark. But what am I complaining about. MK is my favorite videogame series of all time. I can't wait for whatever this is to be revealed
Yes, because casting Michael Jai White, Jeri Ryan, and the guy who played the Capoeira fighter (or as I like to call him, Eddy Gordo from Tekken) from The Protector makes perfect sense for not being an actual movie.
That was completely awesome. I really hope they do make that into a movie, anything has to be better than the second Mortal Kombat film which was just full of cheese and really bad effects. Scoprion looks ace, always loved his character. This looks a lot darker than anything they have done before.
