I really pray that Midway doesn't spend too much time on the mini-games in Deception and more time on the actual fighting styles, etc. and hopefully it'll be better than Deadly Alliance. :wth:

I'm a really big fan of MK. I've been watching Deception closely and i think it looks pretty good. The mini games hopefully won't get in the way. Also the konquest mode looks like it's going to be a little bit of a letdown.

The fighting system looks solid enough IMO, it looks a little faster than DA too. Also i'm glad to see Kabal & Ermac back :) .

I'm glad to see Nightwolf back in the game-However theres only gonna be the same amount of charecters from deadly alliance so thats kinda crap. Also theres a special edtion of it coming out just for PS2 and xbox peeps, sorry gamecube people (well I have all 3 so i can get which one I want). The special editon will come with a DVD which has lots of history, interviews, making of and maybe a music vid or 2.There are laso rumours suggesting that with the special edition there will be another game disc with classic MK games!

There are more characters than Deadly Alliance, and there are multiple fatalities per character now rather than the crappy one each they had for DA. Also the arena fatalities should have some variation as there was'nt any at all in DA.

This game should be intresting, i mean MK has been dead for a while now. I loved the original MK's, I hope Midway did it right again.

Yay, a new Mortal Kombat game. Hmmm, those mini game things don't look that good....i'll just ignore them and kick the crap outta people ^_^ :p

The screens from that look pretty good. Look like practicaly the same graphics from Deadly Alliance to me so they haven't really excelled themselves in that area

The new MK game looks too similar to MK: DA... But with new characters and tweaks... I'm hoping Ed Boon and the guys step up with MK: D... I have loved the MK series up until MK 4... Then I sort of stopped believing Midway could pull off a good and innovative new step like they did with MK 1.

Oh well, I'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully it's not a let down like DA was to me... Meh.

Yeah...I dunno I liked DA for some reason, although I was supremely pissed they killed Liu Kang (sp?). He was my favorite char. through the series...and it took me so damn long to learn his 7 hit combo in trilogy :p. I like the destructable arenas, seems like they've done a lot of work on that, which is good in my book.

Liu Kang is back for Deception. There are screens. Rumour had it he was to appear in zombie/ghost form but some screens suggest he's to appear normal. Guess we won't know until it's released.

I actually don't think killing Lui Kang and then bringing him back was an all good idea. I don't know, but I have a feeling that Mortal Kombat's starting to base the overall story around Scorpion. It seems like they've been giving Scorpion a lot of recognition and 'good endings' since MK4 (does MK4 count? lol). I don't know if MK4 really counts, only because of so many variations of stories... After MK4 I got confused ...

Oh well, I heard the Dragon King is seen in the trailer or something... Wonder if he'll be like, the "main boss" in the story of MK: D :wth:... You know, since they always put some guy at the "head" of each game (Shang Sung, Shao Kahn, Shinnok/Quan Chi, etc.)... Eh, I guess we'll have to just wait and see.

Would anyone even happen to have a link to the entire story of Mortal Kombat? I feel like I might be missing stuff from the story ...

The Dragon King is the main boss. He's also on the cover at the bottom. The reason there are so many endings is so that Midway & Ed Boon etc, can take the series in any direction they wish come to the next game.

I could of sworn that the charecter at the bottom is Baraka

Anyway I've played deception at a english games convention called game stars live and it is actualy really good. The death traps are especialy gruesome and the mini games, despite looking easy, are actualy quite challenging. The fatalitys have been reanimated and made a hell of a lot better than DA and despite the game being 3-D,with the return of alot of charecters, the feel of the old MK games is back.Knoquest mode is about 99% better than the original because you can move around yourself, however the combos to complete in konquest are harder than the previous ones in DA but other than that konquest is excellent.
Charecters that are really good in this game are Smoke,Noob saibot,sub-zero and bakura.I see no sign of Reptile, Secktor, Cyrax, Sonya, Kano or Johnny Cage however you may have to unlock them as secret charecters.I cannot wait to play this game in full but for now the demo I have is a 9.5/10 game.
