    This is good news.

This shows that Linkin Park has matured as a band and is ready to try out new things. Hopefully they will steer away from the angst side of their music.

Mike wouldnt make it like Fort Minor. He could easily produce it, I think if he did the whole band would have so much more of a say in what the songs should sound like as apposed to Don Gilmore. Honestly, writing a chorus 50 times...WHY!?..the initial emotion would be gone by then and all they came up with was rhyming words like "heal, feel, real"....dont get me wrong I love somewhere I belong but I really dont think it needed to be re-written that many times just to get what we got.

sorry if i'm dumb.... but does that mean the mixtape will be like fort minor and released mainly online / handed out by streem-team type members? or will it be for "purchase" online and at retail stores... what's the deal w/ mix-tapes (i never really understood them)? so if you could just explain, that'd be great. thanks!

I'll just wait patiently and hoping for the best. I know they will make a good album.

Mike produced the Hybrid Theory EP, as well as all the old demos, which a lot of fans claim are better than their final versions on Hybrid Theory. Mike's productions aren't all going to be hip-hop, look at his remixes of Pushing Me Away and Crawling on Reanimation, as well as his remix of Depeche Mode's Enjoy the Silence.

I didn't think 3 days would work out. A week, yeah, but not 3 days.

So, it's pretty obvious you don't like Fort Minor?

Look at the lyricism in Fort Minor and compare it to the Lyricism in Linkin Park. Sure, different styles but come on, the lyrics in Fort Minor are so much deeper and better than the lyrics in any of Linkin Parks major releases.

like you said.. sometimes.. i dont think LP has ever gone down that road, so its a safe bet to say that time (too much or little) will determine how good or bad a track is..

    coz as artists they're perfectionists..

And their music can never turn out perfect.

Spending months on a single song, to produce something as bland as Somewhere I Belong is ridiculous.

I think you should look this webpage and you gonna find out when it's the time.
    http://www.machineshopmixtape.com
And there you can see, that there is more than 1 volume and in the first you can't find LP so you probably hear them on the next volume. My oppinion is that the Mixtape is awesome.

True, but I think I just meant to say that if they DID do it in three days, It might not be as good.

Maybe I am just being a little harsh sounding about it, I just really hope it comes out well.
