Completely agree. I've also interpreted it as a song about someone's passing-- Similar to "Shadow of the Day". As a matter of fact it's probably my favorite song on MTM. The Valentine's Day ending is taken way out of context by those unwilling to accept it's not really about Valentine's Day. The irony is that the loss is dealt with every day. Fantastic song and light years ahead of "Given Up" which I am still scratching my head as to why it is still on the list...
Valentines' Day is really amazing. The only think i don't really like are the lyrics "on a Valentines Day". I really dig the song-structure and the instrumentation and the lyrics in the story which's been told.
Hands held high, in pieces, leave out all the rest. I would love for these three to be included in their future sets.

Whoa, where to start? Jeez, this is very hard question... When I say that I don't like HHH, people always assume that it's because of theme of the lyrics or the message of the song. NO! I don't care if it's about war, poverty or whatever. It's not the message that I'm against, but the execution. 1. when you know what kind of sick rhymes Mike is capable of (HT EP, Papercut, With You...), and you hear HHH, it makes you wonder if it is the same person that came up with these rhymes 2. uninspired drums: just because the song is about war subject, you have to remind us with that drum roll?... 3. "Ameeeeen" What does that even mean? - probably nothing (and it's really annoying) 4. AA BB CC rhyme patterns (see #1) 5. "there are bombs in your clothes and bikes"...REALLY, Mike? Is that the best you came up with? Well, that's just my opinion.
