Mike's "Fort Minor" Battles a "Rising Tied"

    In a recent interview with Ballerstatus.net, Mike Shinoda revealed that he will infact not be going under the alias of Mike Shinoda for his solo album. Rather, Mike has deemed the collective force of rappers he has assembled for this record as "Fort Minor".

    "It's called Fort Minor, instead of my name because there are a bunch of other people involved in the project. But I only wanted to work with family and friends; people that I feel are really close to me and we see eye-to-eye," Shinoda explained. "Besides that, Fort has a militant meaning and Minor in music is a smaller, darker, sadder note, so the name is a reflection of the music."

    Upon further discussion it has been revealed that the album will be titled "The Rising Tied" and that it is set for a release date in the summer. The album is slated to show many sides of the Linkin Park emcee, as well as some that Linkin Park fans have not seen until now.

    Mike played five songs for elite Hip-Hop press members, entitled "Remember The Name", "Petrified", "Where'd You Go?", "Right Now", and "Believe Me". "Right Now" features Black Thought of The Roots and Styles of Beyond. Common, Kenna, and John Legend are all slated to appear on the album as well. Jay-Z, while not performing on the album, will serve as Executive Producer.

    Just Weezer, Gorillaz, NIN's and Mike's really.

    I'm curious to hear the lyrics Mike made though as well.

    Strangely enough, as soon as I read the other news post about the Fort Minor site, I though that it'd be an alias. Weird.

    From the samples from the Fort Minor player, I'm loving the strings and the overall style of the music. This sounds like an amazing album already. Can't wait!!

    Edit: It's a little sad to know that Mike thought he couldn't accomplish the things he wanted to with Linkin Park, so instead, he had to release a solo "hip-hop" album. Sounds like Linkin Park is more rock than his liking.

    I like the name alot more since they explained it......I CANT WAIT!!!
    I wonder if Mike will make anyother albums under the name of Fort Minor along with LP in the Future?

    Mike Shinoda is the man, I love the fact that he made it for himself and the fans, you can tell just by him saying that he doesnt care how people take it that it is going to be amazing and something different.
