Alright, so just to clear things up, this is going to be a pure opinion thread. Basically I wanted to know if there were any songs on the album that you thought would have been better with Mike singing instead of Chester. We've heard In Between and No Roads Left as some insight into his singing style and tone, now which songs do you think would be interesting to hear Mike sing? I think it would have been cool to have Mike singing verses and choruses on Leave Out All The Rest and have Chester come in on the higher harmonies of the choruses.
That would be cool. Mike just singing the last part, "forgeting all the hurt.... If Mike sang the bridge to What I've Done that would be awesome, but that would never happen...lol And I still haven't heard No Roads Left btw, hope thats on the next cd single.
Please don't overrate Mike's singing. If anything I think Chester could have done a better job on No Roads left, and in In Between they should have traded verses, that would have been creative
Yea, people are going a bit overboard about Mikes singing. Sure Mikes good, but Chester is honestly one of the most memorable and talented singers of the 21st century, and Mike really isn't at that level. No Roads Left isn't that amzing anyway, I know its not the same vocal style, but IMO he gave a better performance in Bleed It Out and Hands Held High.
Chester > Mike Shinoda singing wise. Mike Shinoda did give an incredible performance in No Roads Left, but he can never top Chester. Who quite frankly is one of the greatest rock singers out there today. As Mike said, of this generation... FACT!
I never said that Mike was better than Chester. I just wanted to see if anyone thought some songs would be more interesting with Mike singing. You know, switching things up, making them interesting. This is why I said that this thread is an OPINION thread.
Mike's a good singer and it's refreshing to hear him go for it, but he's in no way better than chester.
I'm actually very impressed with Mike's singing in No Roads Left. However, I'd be very interested to see Chester sing NRL or In Between himself.
^ same here. while i enjoy mike's singing tracks, i can't really see him singing on any other tracks.
i could see him singing on "leave out all the rest", definitely. maybe the verses on "valentine's day" too. not too sure about that. i would've liked to see "no roads left" on the album but i suppose i would've liked it more (as i do) if i'd gotten it the way i did; a few weeks after i got MTM. mike's singing is good in its own way. chester admits he wouldn't have done as good a job on "in between". chester is obviously the voice of LP so, when people hear LP, they know it by chester's voice. hearing mike sing shows a real new and interesting side, like, dimension, to LP's sound.
Mike's singing is appropriate to only some type of songs (like NRL) but IMO Chester should stay the lead singer. I think we're just used to hear them both in the other songs (HT and METEORA) and that MTM is just breaking that habit ^^
No roads left spunds cool. Mike givs it a totally different feel and although chester ats mike alive with vocal talent, it is a very cool song. I havent really thought about what songs would go good with mike's voices instead of chester but next time i listen, I'll hAve a look
