That's my interpretation too. Him trying to say 'me making music so soon doesn't mean I don't care...it's what I need to survive'.
I prefer to wait until the song has been released and listen to it then or even watch the music video if this song will have one.
Yeah I'm not sure what I'd call it. Is it Mike's version of R&B? AND given how Mike was fusing the line between singing and rapping on Post Traumatic EP, I hope we get more of that on future songs.
I was there that night when we met him at the old Tower Records store. He was filming for this music video. The song is amazing! I cant say anymore until after tomorrow but this song is a game changer! So excited!!!
Whether I like the music or not, it just makes me so happy to see that Mike is becoming more and more engaged with his fans and the community. It's a sign of him starting to put the pieces together. I don,t think we'll ever see any of the band members get back to that point before Chester's death. But seeing them rise out of the tragedy to start something new again and enjoy their lives again and move on warms my heart.
I think he’s been influenced a lot by more contemporary hip hop lately. He adds his own style to it but shows he’s been paying attention to what’s going on hip hop.
The exciting aspect of this is Mike gets to experiment in any way he wants given it's his own album, there aren't the same limitations and preconceived notions from being in a mega band. Here we're really going to see Mike shine on his own. This isn't music where I'd otherwise have specific expectations or hopes for, but rather something I'm simply glad exists.
Yep, I'm getting a contemporary hip hop vibe with vocal effects. I like that tho. It's cool to see Mike adapt to hip hop's changes. I'm glad he's trying out modern flows instead of using the same 90s underground rap flow he had during the Hybrid Theory era. It's one of those things I appreciate about him. He doesn't care about change, he just adapts to it.
