Following the release of yesterday's teaser Mike has now posted a follow up video promoting the release of new music coming tomorrow. The video seems to be a new preview of the song teased yesterday titled "Crossing A Line". Yesterday's video was teasing an announcement for March 29th which has now been confirmed to be new music as Mike will be on KROQ to debut and talk about new solo music tomorrow at 7AM PDT. Earlier this week Mike begun teasing something on Instagram by depicting a line cutting through three images in what looks like paint and watercolor splattered against a canvas. The video shared yesterday featured footage from the night Mike met with fans at Tower Records in LA to shoot some kind of music video for a new song. The song featured in the clip was also previewed in an Instagram Live video Mike took part in last week and it seems this will be the new track we hear tomorrow. What do you think of the preview of "Crossing A Line"? Let us know on the forums! Source: Mike Shinoda
"They'll tell you I don't care any more And I hope you'll know that's a lie Cause I've found what I have been waiting for But to get there means crossing a line."
That was sooo sick! The melody of singing just gets stuck in the head from the first listen and the vocal effect on Mike's voice makes it feel very nice. Could have been cleaner but it is still fantastic. I am HYPED!
I'm digging the vocal melody. Not sure how I feel about the vocal effects though. I'm sure I'll get used to it.
Yeah, I'm already coming around to it. I bet the effects make sense in the context of the full song, much like the effects in the first half of The Catalyst were.
Once again this guy continues to make something he's never done before. Like...how?! This sounds nothing like LP/FM.
No worries, though I am slightly worried that you could in any way mix up a vocoder with a delay. It'd be like hearing a phaser and thinking it's a distortion pedal. But it's all good, hype causes ear errors sometimes.
that's very far away from what i did imagine by listening to the instrumental yesterday. The melody ... the tempo... even in a thousand years i wouldn't picture those vocals fitting on that beat. I like it!
*but to get there means crossing a line Sounds pretty damn cool, I don't get how Mike can keep reinventing himself and his sound all the damn time
Sounds like the song is about him realizing he needs to make music to cope with losing Chester, but making music already without Chester and the band just months after he passed is crossing a line, but it's a line he feels he has to cross.
This is all moving a lot faster than I had expected and I am all for it! The new clip sounds ridiculously catchy imo. Bring on 3AM tomorrow NZ time
Wow. Did not expect that. Very different. It's not particularly catchy but it's weird, and I like hearing Mike do stuff I wouldn't expect
Didn’t Mike say that it’s gonna be a while before anyone’s gonna hear the actual song? Either that’s a short while or he expedited the process lol Sounds dope
