Living Bings, could this be any more of an album title
Whoa, I must have went back in time because it's the year 2000.
I'm not saying its exactly the same. I'm saying that in the same manner as "don't judge a book by its cover", don't judge this album by its title.
LP probably discussed the title before they released it, there's probably a meaning behind it.
I have a full legit explanation of why I don't like the name Living Things. But I'll just go with the short version: It's plain boring.. But I guess, better a great album and a bad name, than a great name and a bad album.. But a bad album with never happen!! Ah well... We'll see eventually if Mike is trolling again or if it really his Living Things. I'll just have to live with it
I think a lot of people don't like the album title because it's different than the previous titles and they didn't expect anything like it. In a lot of ways, it's like A Thousand Suns (the album itself, not the title). Many people hated the album when it came out, because it was different and they didn't expect it. But after some time, it grew on them because they understood what the band was trying to do. They realized A Thousand Suns is actually a great album, it's just different than what they've previously done. If you take a step back and think about what LIVING THINGS can mean, without comparing to previous titles, it can be a great album name. I'm sure it'll also make a lot more sense after the band explains the meaning behind it. But just like A Thousand Suns, there are going to be people who will always hate the title. They are known to change, to be creative, and to polarize their fan base, and that's why I like them so much.
I agree with everything but part of the last sentence. smart man!
Living things? Ah, Ok........................... hehehe
We're trolling it up, to break it back down
we're trolling it up, to burn it down
we can't wait to troll you to the ground...
Could that beee any cooler?
We all did a lot of things we regretted in the 90s, like pretending James Cameron continued to make good films after Terminator 2
How dare you hate on Titanic. I'll never let go, Jack!
Plus there are boobies in that movie. Can't go wrong with that.
Mass Effect 3
i cant wait to hear this album!! i love the name of it "Living things" i like things!
I still don't believe the album name is Living Things. Mike keeps trolling us.
I've been lurking this site for years and i thought it was time i joined my fellow fans of Linkin Park. Regarding the title... i hope they have some deep fhilosophical meaning hidden beneath because without that Living Things seems so weak in comparasion to older album titles. Anyway this is exiting news and when BID is released tommorow i will force myself up early to blast it trough a few times before school
I for one thing will not pre order this album. I pre ordered ATS and it cost me almost $30 after shipping, I can get it way cheaper if I just buy it at a store tbh
All these reflections about the title makes me remember a complaint/disappointment Mike stated after the release of ATS. He said something about how it can be over-reductive to comment with just some words and notes an album that required such a long time and hard work, words written from magazines in reviews specially -I think-, it feels it doesn't reward all the ideas going behind the whole project.
Maybe that is why, through his research of complexity to end up to a plain simple, even vague title doesn't fit with me.
I'm also trying to imagine him in a concert show saying to the crowd "which of you guys heared our brand new album Living THINGS"... it just doesn't work for me. Is the way I see it.
Where did you see that?
THIS. Living Things is so boring compared to the past 4 albums
Separate names with a comma.
