Please read the rules, where you will see the following:

There are homosexual people on these boards who wouldn't appreciate something being called "gay" or blatant use of the word "fag" or "faggot". "Fag" is a homophobic slur.

However, because of the fact that Shadow used it in a very roundabout way, we decided to just warn him rather than give him an infraction, but our policy is usually to give a point for it right away. It still wasn't cool for him to say it, but I felt a simple "watch it" was better than a point at this time.

Oh gotcha. I'm gay and didn't take offense, but I would see how it would to others cause I know a few friends who do. I respect that, and thanks for clarifying Derek!

I support this rule normally but it probably wasn't that necessary to tell anyone off there. It's not as though it was being thrown around as an insult that time, then again it's not my place to tell you how to do your job haha.

Yeah, you can say fuck, shit, piss, etc...we're very open here. We just have a few words that we'd prefer to put in the naughty corner.

I wasn't telling anybody off?. I kindly asked him to be careful.

He was mostly joking when he said it was genre-busting. He addressed it in a blog post.

Tripleh3lix, please read your PM when you get a chance :). I think I knew you from somewhere and I'm just curious as to if my suspicions are correct.

No problem big guy :). This is why I prefer this forum anyway over the official one lol. You know how to use discretion as a moderator.

Yeah guys, please keep it mind that it takes a blatant break of a rule for us to give an infraction (strike) on here. We understand that people often might not be aware of certain rules...especially newer members, and that's why I didn't just wail off on Shadow with a strike. :)

I got an infraction right a way without even a warning. So these guys mean it! I think it's cool that the LPA steps their foot down on stuff like this. Not much sites do!

Back to LP. I wonder exactly how much rapping there will be. In my opinion, in order for this to be "genre busting", a lot of ATS must involve rap somehow. For instance, country is a basic genre. However country with rap would most definitely be genre busting.

I think we'll get more rapping than MTM. Least that's my view on it.

i almost read that as raping, and then i thought of this video right here

but back to the topic, i would LOVE to hear more singing mainly from Mike. I think he has a great voice for it, IMO, and it would go great with the new sound

I am sure the new little tricks they learned from Minutes To Midnight + some rawness in terms of instrumental from HT + rap sections (beyond the usual that we've already heard mike perform) I'd consider it genre busting. As long as it's not intro mike / chester / mike / chester / end I am good.

I am hoping more around the lines of intro / chester / chester / mike / chester / end . Mike is fun to have him rap and all, but if mike goes close to being 50% on the track, and we have Meteora / Hybrid again. I love the guy and I need him rapping, unless they found some cool way to break that barrier from a decade ago. I just don't see how he can rap and sound genre busting. So let's see.. in a couple of more weeks from now :D.

The genre busting thing was a mistake. It was a case of Mike being all in the moment and he's since retracted that statement :). I wouldn't hold it as gospel.

It would be really..really interesting if Mike had his own song where he rapped the verse and sang the chorus. I'm not sure that's ever been done before. A guy rapping and the same guy singing in the same song (No Eminem, you don't count even though "technically" you are singing)!

And I agree with what the formula of the songs could be. They went in the right direction with Blackbirds with Mike/chester/chester/chester/chester/mike/chester. That was something new! Maybe Mike raps the first verse and sits out the rest of the song. The possibilities are endless...let's hope LP realizes that.

Mike said he's putting all his "Fort Minor Energy" into the album, so hopefully the songs that have him rapping are in ATS.

Oh really? When the heck did this happen o_O. If he retracted, there's no sense to debate this or pick at it lol. At least he retracted it, not like years ago.
