Hey, so I get this half second (or something) delay whenever I speak into the microphone. I can't record or use softwares like Skype because it's too much of a distraction! Anyone else had/have this problem? Any solution?

Are you trying to monitor yourself while you're speaking? Or does it actually record delayed like that?

Well I am getting the direct mic feedback on my headphones and I can clearly hear the delay there.

You'd need a zero-latency mic for there to not be a delay if you're trying to monitor yourself in real time.

@AgentO, instead of using whatever options in the program you're using that use Real-Time, you can

    1. Right click on your volume
    2. Click on "Open Volume Control"
    3. Click on "Options"
    4. Click on "Properties"
    5. Click on "Playback"
    6. Check all the inputs/outputs you'd like to hear
    7. Click Okay
    8. You should now see "Mic Volume" in your Volume Control
    9. Un-check "Mute"
    10. Turn up to your preferred volume

Basically, what this does is it outputs your voice through windows instead of a third-party program.
Be sure not to have the microphone too close to a speaker as it can cause feedback, minor or extreme depending on how close you are.

Be sure to turn off real-time voice monitoring-processing when doing this, as if you don't you'd just end up hearing your delayed voice, plus your voice in sync at the same time.

This is a nice alternative if you don't have best type of microphone.

    Hope that helps!

@Jesse: Well I already have that set. It only allows me to change the volume. Delay is still there.

@travz21: I use a headgear and it worked perfectly when I was on XP. Win 7 seems to be shitty when it comes to this.

    Any other suggestion?

That's weird. I literally have a $1 microphone that I got from the $1 store, ($1.05cents to be exact) and there is no delay or anything...

I have no idea then. I think I remember messing around with stuff like this with my speakers built into my monitors. Maybe right click on the volume toolbar and go to "playback devices". Maybe tweaking some stuff in there will fix it.
