It's likely the same effect he used on 2000 Watts. That song has him lower than anybody's ever heard him. Probably the same with this.

I should note I haven't heard the song yet, I'll give my opinions later.

Did you say that you loved the song? How can you like it if you haven't heard it?

Okay. But to me it sounds very much like Jason Malachi. Just listen to this song and then compare it to 'breaking news'.

Don't see the logic behind them passing some other guy as MJ and disrespecting his memory like that.

MJ or not, the song itself is okay. Expected something a little more grand.

Never said that and don't know how you got that idea. I said I heard the intro and it sounded decent, but never said I liked nor loved the song anywhere.

I don't see the logic either.
However I do know that MJ was going completely bonkers about sony trying to kill him etc in his last 10 years of life. o.o
But to me, this doesn't sound like his voice AT ALL. I like this song but it sounds like Jason Malachi more than Michael Jackson.

Sorry, this is entirely my fault and a major fail. Somehow I thought that you were the thread opener and I read "I love the song" and then later saw "I haven't heard it yet" and to be honest I don't know how I got to think that it was you that created the thread. So, a major disoriented fail on my part.

That's okay FacePalm. All aboard the failbus :p.

And there are plenty of reasons for Sony to fake Michael Jackson's vocals. He's the biggest selling artist of all time, and he's dead. Death boosts album sales. If they can get a sound alike (Malachi at one time was rumored to be MJ under a fake name due to the similarities) to record parts, and market it as a "new Michael Jackson record comprised of recently 'mastered' demos" they'll make millions off of the sale of the album alone. Sure it may seem like a conspiracy theory but when MJ died, the record label and his estate saw dollar signs. The entire time he was alive he 'wasn't marketable' due to categorically false accusations, and now that he's dead there's suddenly a movie out (This Is It), a new Jackson 5 clothing line, an upcoming video game, a Cirque De Soleil show, remasters of his old albums, and a "new album" compromised of never before released songs.

Where was this support when he was alive? Where was his 'caring label' when the police searched Michael's house high and low and found NO EVIDENCE (check the police reports) to convict him of the crime of Child Molestation? Everyone wanted to shit on this guy when he was alive, but now that he's dead they can't wait to make money off of him. It's disgusting, and I just hope to hell his children somehow manage to live a normal life in the wake of all of this.

I think all hope is lost for Blanket Jackson, personally.

This. Exactly my views. Thank you :)

It's rediculous how much money people have made from the death of Michael Jackson. It's evil.

This doesn't sound like Michael Jackson to me at all. It sounds like Jason Malachi (it's exactly the same voice as 'Let Me Go' posted above). The vocal 'hiccups', the skat singing Michael does, none of it is "right" in this recording. Michael was capable of a lower voice (see 2000 Watts) but this doesn't have the same tone as Michael had when he sung in lower tones. There's no power in the voice...when Michael as late as 2006-2007 still sounded good on recordings.

I think Sony pulled a fast one on the fans.

Listen to "Xscape" a CONFIRMED real track from 2006 that leaked before Michael died.

This was made the same time as "breaking news" was reportedly made. There is no vocal similarities between the two tracks at all and they were recorded reportedly AT THE SAME TIME.

Dude, I dont know what to say, you always get my words out of my head and just place them on here. :)
I thought XScape was released in 2003?
Nevertheless you're right; there is no vocal simliarity whatsoever.

His voice is alot more raw and emtional on Xscape.

At first listen, the album Invincible came to my mind. It sounded like MJ is singing under a vocal filter.

I might have messed up the year of release, but it's one of the last 'confirmed real' tracks that leaked before his death. That and "One More Chance" which he was planning to release as a single but never got around to releasing.

My attitude is that the chorus is likely Michael, but the rest was sung by a sound-alike from old lyrics Mike wrote so that they could complete the track. After all, Sony even said themselves that the track was "recently brought to completion". That right there is a dead giveaway to me that some of the vocals on here are not legit.

Where is Jason Malachi? He should be asked for a statement regarding this song.
