"Meteora" Certified 3x Platinum

    Congratulations to Linkin Park for having their latest album "Meteora" certified three times platinum by the RIAA (Record Industry Association of America)! The certification means that over three million copies of "Meteora" have been sold in the United States over the past six months. This averages out to almost one million copies every two months, or 150,000 units sold per week.

    In Billboard Chart news, here are the chart placements for "Meteora" and "Faint" for the last two weeks;

    Billboard Top 100 Albums Charts
    "Meteora" - #19 (Previous Week - #12)
    Billboard Modern Rock Charts
    "Faint" - #2 (Previous Week - #2)
    Billboard Mainstream Rock Charts
    "Faint" - #3 (Previous Week - #3)

    September 25th

    Billboard Top 100 Albums Charts
    "Meteora" - #24 (Last Week - #19)
    Billboard Modern Rock Charts
    "Faint" - #2 (Last Week - #2)

    "Faint" has stayed in the same position on both charts for the past two weeks, while "Meteora" fell twelve spots in a 14-day span to go from 12 to 24. Sales should pick up next week when "Numb" enters the charts.

    Nice! Yeah, Numb will boost their sales, but at wich point, we don't know... This is not the kind of hit In The End was...

    That's almost impossible to calculate. The record companies sometimes calculate it by the number of albums they ship out, not by the number have been sold. No company is capable of monitoring every store in over 150 countries to give a good accurate total of album sales.

    Over 250,000 have been sold in Canada, though.

    Here in Portugal Meteora went platinum in July...
    I don't know how the sales are now...

    *woot woot* GO LP! 3 muh-muh-MILLION CD's... its INSANE... and to think... its not over yet.... they still have Numb.. that definitely will affect record sales... AND if they make another video.... man... the sales r gonna go thru the roof! GO LINKIN PARK!
