They deserve this recognition, pretty easily.

 

They deserve this, like, ridiculously so. People underestimate their influence.

They really should have been inducted earlier than this, to be honest. They've had a massive influence on modern metal.

Maybe the Hall of Fame was just waiting until they released another album after St. Anger.

 

They deserve it, yes. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is an absolute joke, though.

And Metallica definitely deserve it too, Slayer couldn't of created metal on their own.

 

Right on, I just saw Metallica live in Vancouver last month! I'm very happy for them, they really deserve this!

 

I am still waiting for them to let Rush in.

 

There's a ton of bands including Rush that should be in there. But in the end, who really cares?

 

They couldn't have been inducted any earlier. Have to wait atleast 25 years after their debut album was released to be considered.

I was going to say this but i think maybe Kill 'Em All was released '81 (correct if wrong), so they could've been there in 2006.
