Well i've started liking metalcore and i'd like some reccomendations on some current great metalcore bands. Preferably not too much death metal influence and i prefer singing more than screaming, but screaming in verses and such is good.
You'd probably like He Is Legend... not as much screaming on their last album, but still pretty hard. They're obviously influenced by classic rock and alternative metal/rock-type stuff as well.
Might be a bit much screaming for you, but Killswitch Engage are amazing. Check out When Darkness Falls, Rose Of Sharyn, My Last Serenade and The End Of Heartache.
Listen to: Bullet For My Valentine Trivium Caliban - I Rape Myself Caliban - My Time Has Come Haste the Day - The Minor Prophets Good songs by those bands too
trivium (old) avenged sevenfold (old) atreyu (old) eighteen visions (old) it dies today (old) bullet for my valentine thrice (some older material) killswitch engage he is legend anterior (no singing) caliban haste the day all that remains still remains god forbid roses are red shadows fall (to an extent) chimaira (to an extent) ill niño (i consider them metalcore, not "nu metal") silverstein from autumn to ashes funeral for a friend (some older material) escape the fate a day to remember diecast dead poetic (some older material) capharnaum (matt heafy's side project) calico system the burning season evergreen terrace (to an extent) becoming the archetype august burns red as i lay dying
i know so many people have said KSE but i have to agree, The End of heartache is a GREAT album with screaming songs blended with singing just right. But if you want less screaming more singing check out the new cd As Daylight dies by them. i love every song on it
Every Time I Die, if you can consider them metalcore. I personally LOVE their new album "The Big Dirty" and their last album "Gutter Phenomenon". I highly recommend both.
Thanks guys haven't got around to many of them yet (esspeically will's list) but thanks for the help.
I Killed the Prom Queen are a pretty decent Australian metalcore band. Maybe give them a go once you've acclimatised to the screaming, as it is fairly full-on. I'd also agree on Every Time I Die.
On the subject of southern/classic rock-influenced metalcore Maylene and the Sons Of Disaster are also really good.
