hey guys just wondering if you know any bands that are like Lacuna Coil etc who collaborate their metal music with orchestral melody. or any songs that are like that... and by which band
Lacuna Coil, eh? Like a female singer? I don't know if you'd like Chainfall or Ram-Zet, but they have female singers and I really like them. You might like Nightwish, their vocalist has very close to the best voice I've ever heard, rivaled only by the beautiful Sharon den Adel from Within Temptation. Poison the Well doesn't have a female singer but they fit the genre's mentioned above. Moonspell is another male vocalist-band that you may find appealing... If you don't like any of those bands, I can't help ya. Those are my favorite from that style.
The Gathering Lacuna Coil Moonspell Opeth Samael Therion Tiamat Alastis Katatonia Lake of Tears Nightwish On Thorns I Lay
Definately Nightwish and Moonspell, but I dunno...Poison the Well? Aren't they pretty hardcore? Haven't heard any symphonic elements from the songs of theirs I heard. If you like more progressive stuff though, check out Symphony X. Their orchestration doesn't go too overboard and the songs are very well written and arranged. Can't wait for their new album
thanks guys... there;s so much more stuff i have to check out.... so which one's out of those are less 'grungy', like you know, no 'shut up when i'm talking to you' Chester Bennington One Step Closer' style? Sort of like 'Heaven's A Lie' by Lacuna Coil -mia
Spineshank doesn't incorporate orchestra but they are melodic in spots. Check out anything from "Self-Destructive Pattern".
