In 2010, Linkin Park ventured to Chile to play their first ever show in the country. They were probably nervous, having just kicked off the touring cycle at the show before, in Argentina. At that show they had debuted some absolute bangers from their new album live. ... weird how history repeats itself like that. At the show itself not really much happened ... Mike sang Burning in the Skies over the bridge of Bleed It Out for the first time. Enjoy that and When They Come for Me by watching the videos from the show. HOLY. SHIT. Linkin Park performed in Argentina on May 6, and when they did, they debuted their best setlist in several years! It is too much awesome for the human brain to handle, so we'll just go over the key events in the set and talk more specifically in the next few tour posts. Sound good? Well too bad, I decide this! Let's just get to the big one first, the band did indeed play a new song. For the first time in full band mode they played the song Talking to Myself from their new album One More Light. If you haven't heard it yet, you either live under a rock (how's the WiFi reception?) or you're saving it for the first listen to the album. Well if you change your mind it's here below. You know you want to.. Other highlights include things such as the amazing new version of Leave Out All The Rest, the modified version of the Castle of Glass Experience (we're now up to four different versions of Castle of Glass being played), the 2007 intro to One Step Closer returning and Crawling getting brought back as a piano version, Battle Symphony getting played by the full band for the first time, and The Catalyst returning to the live stage! Video of most are below... well, audio. There are several video recordings of this show, but the people that hosted the stream has put copyright claims on all recordings so for now just enjoy the audio. The videos should be back in the coming weeks/months. With this show being a headlining show, first of all there's only one band playing before LInkin Park so less waiting for the fun stuff (sorry to any potential Rise Against fans) but there is a chance that we might be getting even more new stuff from this show. The band has in the past kept their setlist for festivals shorter than their headlining shows and with that omitted songs. If that's the case here we could potentially look at a setlist with 2-3 more songs on it. What these songs could be is anyones guess, but maybe a extra new song from the new album? Maybe bringing back an old classic? We'll know after the show. After this show the band heads to Lima in Peru for the first time in their career. Yes, after 17 years that is still something that can be said about one of the biggest bands in the world. That show will take place on May 11. Are you going to the show? Well... In an initiative to connect the fans of Linkin Park, we here on LPA made a meet up schedule, so if you want to meet some fellow LPA users before the show, the page for all the information and names of who are attending the show is right here. So make it known that you are attending the show, so you can meet some other awesome fans. Remember to tweet/facebook/instagram pictures to us (we're "LPAssociation" on all those sites) if you meet some other members. Are you going to this show? What do you think of the new setlist? Will the band play a longer setlist? Come and discuss in our forums. Remaining shows on this tour: May 11, 2017 - Lima, Peru May 13, 2017 - Sao Paulo, Brazil Setlist: 01. "Linkin Park performed in Argentina on May 6, and when they did, they debuted their best setlist in several years!" Opinion, not fact.
Yeah, there's no objectively best setlist. Like for me, they can't have their best setlist if "Waiting for the End" is excluded. No "Given Up" either, but they put back in "Somewhere I Belong". Though the extended "Leave Out All the Rest" is a welcome addition.
Yes, these are the two I'm missing the most. The repeated "Holding onto what I havent... gooooooot" near the end of WFTE was my favourite part of the last show I've been at.
That has to be the most god awful setlist they ever played. They havent had a good setlist since 2004. I'm not paying over 300 bucks for standing GA to listen to have of the setlist. These new songs get really boring fast and dull. It doesnt leave a powerful punch
Yeah, the set's not terrible but I much preferred last tour's. 8 full length songs from the first 2 albums and only one from each of ATS and THP doesn't seem like a particularily balanced set and personally doesn't interest me too much.
Setlist...: 0) Fallout/ Roads Untraveled 1) TALKING TO MYSELF 2) Burn It Down 3) Catalyst 4) Wastelands 5) OSC 6) Castle of Glass *Experience 7) GOOD GOODBYE 8) Lost in the echo 9) BATTLE SYMPHONY 10) New Divide 11) INVISIBLE 12) WFTE + RTN Intro 13) Breaking the Habit 14) ONE MORE LIGHT (OMFG) 15) Crawling (piano) 16) Leave Out All The Rest (fucking 2017 version) 17) Somewhere i Belong 18) What I've Done 19) In The End 20) Faint 21) Numb 22) HEAVY 23) Papercut 24) Bleed It Out
That's a mellow-ass setlist. Not that I have a problem with it, but they better not play that at Hellfest. That'd be trolling the crownd more than anything else.
