Marvel Studios today announced the additions of Jeff Goldblum and Karl Urban to the cast of the highly-anticipated Thor: Ragnarok.
Goldblum will be portraying the cosmic entity and elder-of-the-universe Grandmaster (who is, in essence, the Collector's brother), while Urban will be portraying an Asgardian warrior called Skurge (known as the Executioner, who is highly tied to the Enchantress). They are in addition to Cate Blanchett, who will be portraying Hela, and Tessa Thompson, who will be portraying Valkyrie, as well as Mark Ruffalo, reprising his role as Bruce Banner/Hulk. Marvel also confirmed the return of Idris Elba as Heimdall and Sir Anthony Hopkins as Odin.
Edit: Jaimie Alexander has since confirmed her return as the Lady Sif via Twitter.
Man, Ragnarok has a great cast. Hope it's not as forgettable as the last ones.
Michael Keaton has officialy joined the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Though he is more than likely playing Vulture, I'd love to see Michael Keaton play some incarnation of Mysterio.
Yeah. I think he's playing the Vulture, too. But it'd be an odd choice for him after appearing in Birdman (which was fantastic, by the way). The rumor's that Marvel originally wanted him to play Norman Osborn but he didn't want to sign on for a multi-picture deal, which is where all the reports of him dropping out came from before.
Spider-Man: Homecoming suit setpics incoming.
Will update accordingly...
Rachel McAdams is playing Christine Palmer, also known as Night Nurse in the comics.
Also in GOTG 2, Elizabeth DeBicki plays Ayesha, the golden High Priestess, Chris Sullivan plays Taserface (never thought I'd see him in a movie, ever), the leader of the Ravagers, and Kurt Russell as Ego the Living Planet, the dad of Star-Lord. Sylvester Stallone has also been cast in the movie.
In Spider-Man: Homecoming, Vulture is confirmed as a villain. The cast includes Tom Holland as Spidey, Michael Keaton, Zendaya as Michelle, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon as Ned, Laura Harrier as Liz Allen, Tony Revolori as Flash Thompson, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, with Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, and Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man.
In Black Panther, Michael B. Jordan is cast as Eric Killmonger, Lupita Nyong'o is Nakia and Danai Gurira as Okoye.
In the sizzle reel for Thor 3, Surtur is confirmed to be in the movie.
Well geez Marvel let it all out
I'm surprised none of you mentioned that Brie Larson has been cast as Carol Danvers. For me that was the biggest news.
She's no Yvonne Strahovski or Emily Blunt (my choices) but she seems to be embracing the role and I've no doubt she's going to knock it out of the park.
Well, I'm not 100% sure in which thread to post this, but according to reports, Hulu has ordered a pilot for The Runaways. The showrunners are Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. Hulu has ordered additional scripts with an eye on greenlighting an entire season. The series will be produced by ABC Signature.
The first official poster for Homecoming.
So, Zendaya is allegedly playing
So this is what Thor (and Hulk) has been up to during Civil War
This is so much like "What We Do In The Shadows", holy shit
It's almost like it was directed by Taika Waititi, who happens to also be directing Thor: Ragnarok! *gasp*
I saw a couple people on reddit convinced that's supposed to be a One-Shot and thus canon. Absurd.
The real one will be released with Doctor Strange
Doctor Strange is looking fantastic. Can't wait...
Doctor Strange is fantastic. And my god, it's freaking beautiful. The visuals are something else. Sure it's not perfect - some narrative problems, a few disappointments and underdeveloped characters - but damn everything else makes up for them. But man, the cast is the best part about this movie. The lead six characters easily are the best parts about the movie. Not sure how the movie compares to Civil War though.
