All this talk about "I'm more excited for this OST than THP" kind of killed all the excitement I had left for the new album
Looks interesting actually. I'm digging the soundtrack too. Some of the scenes look a bit too student-film'y while others look quite promising.
THP and the OST are two different albums and should be judged seperately. I can promise that from what I have heard (and what I expect to hear with the other half from fan reviews)...THP is about as much of a departure from that clip as humanly possible.
I know how you feels :/ It's not that other people opinions inluence mine. It's more that's it's painfull for me to watch people glorify litteraly anything more indie sounding over anything rawer, regardless of the inner qualities of the songs. If that's how people judge things, then THP is condemned to be bashed over and over again, simply because of its genre. Nevermind I guess.
Yeah, people tend to overreact, they say this now but in a couple of months they will be like "oh yeah I was just too excited that time and that song sucks now"
https://soundcloud.com/jackfarrell/luna Fuck THP, THIS IS A SEED FROM THE A THOUSAND SUNS ERA!!!!! I NEED THE SOUNDTRACK NOW!!!!!
More like it's just killing any remaining sense that we're part of a collective fan-base. Anymore this is just a very specific news service and we are the Yahoo! or YouTube commenters tossing stones and wondering why the others are present.
When others get really excited about something, that's infectious and it makes me feel excited too. When it suddenly feels like people don't care anymore it brings the excitement down for me.. honestly can't really explain why, it's just the way it is. I mean when you're at a concert and you're the only one jumping up and down, wouldn't that bring your excitement down as well? Btw, I'm not saying people shouldn't be excited about this song. It's just a little annoying that it feels like THP is being stomped on by some people (before it's even released).
Even though I was blown away by hearing the song in the trailer , obviously sang by Mike Shinoda, I've listened to it again and realized it's really not that 'great' (sound effects of the movie make it cooler) and perhaps is only one of Mike's indie demo's. If so, we might get it on LPU14 or whatever. It is really catchy, but I highly doubt we'll even get it on LPU14. It's probably just a soundtrack made for this movie. I highly doubt this is 'A Line In The Sand', but you never know. Lets just keep at peace with who wants what. All I want is them to grow lyrically and musically. Whatever they're going to do, sing some words of wisdom; let it be. Or as hodor would say: Hodor As for the movie, I'd love to watch it! Joe Hahn is more of a conspiracy theorist right, seems like it could get cool with that mindset
So as a film, I'm curious about this. It actually looks like it's gonna be kind of jarring and experimental with it's editing. Also, it annoys me when studios can't let things be subtle. "Mall" has to become "A Day To Kill," because they think audiences will be attracted to words like "kill."
I still hope that this song is A Line In The Sand. If it will be this, I think that it will be the most epic closing song on the Linkin Park album.
