Wiki says a lot of things. Doesn't mean all of them are true. Not to mention that when I personally asked him when his promo press conference came to my college, he said that Mike was producing on the album AFTER The Cool.
Heh I should have known there was no chance it could be as good as Food And Liquor. But it's pretty decent nevertheless. My fave is Intruder Alert
Here is the actual sequencing of the actual story of The Cool... He Say, She Say The Pills I Don't Feel So Good The Coolest Streets On Fire Hello/Goodbye (Uncool) The Die Put You On Game The Cool He Say, She Say is where you are introduced to Michael Young History. He's becoming more resentful of his father for leaving, starts doing bad in school, getting into fights, etc. The Pills (a.k.a. Real Reckognize Real) is where you are introduced to the character of The Streets and The Game. The Streets is described as "a demon in a dress, with dollar signs in her eyes and semen on her breath". You are also introduced to The Game who has blunts for fingers, hollow tips for teeth, crackpipes for lungs, dice for eyes, etc. I Don't Feel So Good is where History's mother gets turned out and becomes addicted to drugs. "The Game's got her heart, The Streets have got her soul" is repeated over and over. The Coolest is the turning point, History is confronted by The Streets - she promises to give him fame and that he will never feel pain again. There is an eternal conflict, but by the last verse, he (or we, The Streets and History, now known as The Cool) began their reign. Streets On Fire is a song about The Streets. I haven't heard the album yet, so I can't elaborate further. Same for Hello/Goodbye and Put You On Game, but I know The Die is where Michael Young History is killed. The Cool is the final song in The Cool series, which has History coming back from the dead to finish his unfinished business. He gets robbed by the same people who killed him. They ask him if he's scared, and he replies "Hustler for death, no heaven for a gangster" - this phrase is constantly uttered by History post-death. The chorus of the song, and the overall message of this concept is: "This life goes passing you by, it might go fast if you lie, you born, you live, then you die...if life goes passing you by, don't cry - if you are breaking the rules, making your moves...chasing the cool..." ---------------------------- Got this off another board.

I would agree with that. I think that is probably one of the greatest rap songs ever written [/opinion]. This album will get plays from me probably 10 years from now. As a matter of fact, I think this is probably one of the greatest rap albums ever written. Every song has a great flow, great lyrics, and amazing production. If this album doesn't garner Lupe a lot of attention, I will be honestly surprised. Favorite Tracks: Little Weapons Intruder Alert Hip Hop Saved My Life Go Go Gadget Flow The Die Paris, Tokyo
the opening lines from Little Weapon are from way back when Lupe was still putting Mixtapes out there.. 'FnF Volume 3' or something like that, i cant actually remember but i do remeber it was only like six tracks long or something? 'kids with guns' was the track i think. the one where he took beats from gorillaz album 'deamon days' im so glad hes done something with that verse, i loved it then and i love it now
