Understandably, LPUX was hyped, releasing Pretend to Be in August of 2010.. Why hasn't there been any updates or hype for LPU11 when it's almost the end of October?
Because although LPUX was awesome and gave me a once in a life time experience, I believe LPUHQ has understood the importance of the opportunities that LPUX had. Adam recently asked the LPUers what they would like to see as a package for LPU11 on the LP.com message boards. I expect to hear news within the next couple of weeks.
I've been kind of worrying about this lately... Will there be a new LPU11 CD coming out this year with demos and b-sides again? I've been a member of the LPU since 2004 (4.0) and I want to renew again definitely. Hope news comes out soon.
Traditionally, the next year of LPU is only hinted at during October and then launched in late November/early December. LPUX was an exception, and it made a lot of 8.0ers upset that they didn't get to upgrade to LPU9 before being locked out of the system. Back in ~August (as is about that month they do it on many years) is when they ask fans for feedback. Adam said at the time that what was going on the LPU11 CD had already been decided.
Only just last week I was thinking: "hey, the new LPU CD should be coming out soon!" Which suddenly lifted my spirits! Although as I've only just remembered just goes to show how much the LPU in in dire straits at the moment. Like its been said, the hype began as early as august last year as its usually around this time we get some solid news from LPUHQ with what would be on this years one. Even if it isn't released until December. (one year it was as early as October, correct me if I'm mistaken) There has to be a new CD. No matter what they put on it. I'd be gutted if they stopped now
After the awesomeness of LPU9 and LPUX, I couldn't see them fucking this one up. I just hope we get some news on LPU11 soon.
There is definitely going to be a CD for this year, as the whole point of encouraging people to sign up early for the LPUX package was to get the first 500 names printed in the liner notes of LPU11. As stated earlier, the tracklist has been determined for a while as well. Don't worry guys. Last year we didn't know the track-list until the LPUX London Summit (LPA actually reported it exclusively), and that was in November. LPU9's tracklist wasn't even revealed until a week before it was released early in Best Buy and that was late November/closer to December as well. So no worries, we'll hear info within the next month.
I hope it's b-sides and demos!! So many good ones that they could include.. Anyone remember that demo for Meteora that was on the making of DVD? It went ''Thoughts that take away my pride, Trapped in places deep inside, Memories I've come to fear, and I can't make them disappear''? I personally want some MTM demos with vocals and some old stuff...a few ATS b-sides would be nice.
Does the band even have a recording of Pictureboard or know how to play it? That was a Xero song. To Play Reading My Eyes live the band had to google and download that song to remember how it went.
