For those who are not aware, the fan pack of LPU9 has already began to be sold in certain Best Buy's and rips of the album have already made their way onto the internet. As always (with every new album) we must remind you that public links to leaks are not allowed on our forums/website, and that any posting of links will result in an instant ban from our forums.

Now on to the album, how does it sound? Well, after two listens to the CD already; this may very well be the CD us fan club members have been waiting for since the LPU 2.0 CD came out back in 2002. Many of the versions of the songs you hear on the CD are versions that are shockingly different from their original counterparts. For instance, Faint has completely different lyrics in the verse and absolutely no singing in the chorus or bridge. "Fear" (Leave Out All The Rest) features Mike singing a drastically different song than what we hear on Minutes To Midnight. Figure.09 is the infamous 'singing version' and is a treat to the ears.

As for the Xero demo, sadly this is the only disappointment on the CD as it is a mere 55 seconds long and does not feature any vocals from Chester as many people originally thought. Since Chester did not join the band until around 1998, chances are this is the instrumental Chester recorded his vocals over that ultimately led to his acceptance within the band.

Finally, the new song "Across The Line" is an extreme departure from other songs featured on Minutes To Midnight. Featuring lyrics that seem to deal directly with drugs and suicide, musically this song does not fit the same alternative rock feel found on Minutes To Midnight and it's easy to see why this was not included and why it might have fit better as possibly a Dead By Sunrise track or even a track on the new album. Definitely a departure, and the bridge (while I will not spoil it for the fans) is a pleasant surprise.

It will take a few listens for all the surprises on this CD to sink in (Drum Song has Mike singing and not Chester), but overall this is a fantastic CD and worth the hype and hysteria that surrounded it.

Excellent disc, and a welcome departure from previous years.

    Final Score: 4/5

It's reaffirmed my faith in the band. For a while I was unsure because Minutes To Midnight kinda disappointed me...hearing what I heard on here though, even though some demos are very old...I'm more excited for the new album than ever before.

    This is amazing.

The lyrics needed polish (chorus was a little rough) but overall I wish it would've been included on MTM.

I'm trying to get lyrics done for you guys but there's a lot of gibberish. It's impossible on some songs.

"Fear" made me cringe. "Leave Out All The Rest" is my favorite song off of MTM and I am so glad they redid that song. After hearing "Across The Line", I wish it made the cut for MTM. It could have taken the place of "In Between" or something lol. The rest of the demos are pretty much awesome.

It doesn't restore my faith in the band musically, since these are demos from the past, but it does restore my faith in the LPU and the band listening to what the fans really want.

Side note, I love this years shirt. Love the 9 representing the "G" in ground. It's the little things that are sometimes cool lol.

I love the raw production and the audible bass on that Faint demo.

The Figure 9.0 demo sounds like it could have been the highlights of Meteora if they persued that structure. Instead it turned out to be one of the weakest. Funny how there's a fine line between complete success and complete failure.

Also Stick 'n' Move sounds like it could have been a pretty cool rap orientated song. I think I hear a similar sample to She Couldn't in there as well.

The demo lyrics for Faint are so much better IMO.
