So far away is probably my most favourite at the moment. So different from the other 1998 tracks, especially for the fact it's mostly Mike singing. I love it though. It almost sounds like the typical "nu-metal" sound that came out years later. It is amazing how much their sound change in less than a year when HTEP came out, then Hybrid Theory.
1998 LP(HT) is more raw than 2000 LP your right two different bands. I guess Warner Bro.s didnt like that rawness LP had.
Amazing combo. Looking forward to buying it next year as my 1st LPU membership.. Only thing I'm concerned is my card being rejected because of the country it comes from. It happens on several online shops. But I'm very hopeful. PS.- I'm home for the weekend, yay!
For some reason I see this at the end of Part of Me, instead of the 9 minutes of that weird noise. I think this would be awesome to lead into "Ambient." And does anyone else hear "Somewhere I Belong" chords/strumming patterns in Clarity?
I think the 98 Linkin Park sounds too nu-metal/more of the same than the final product. It's too grunge and less balanced
I've got a question. If I buy the LPU membership as a first time buyer, can I have access to the LPU store, order some more stuff and get them all sent into one shipment? It's a bit of a weird question but I have that doubt.
Ok, so am I the only one who can't actually get into the store? I've tried in Chrome, Firefox and IE9 (*shiver*), but none of them worked. I sent in a support ticket to ground(ctrl), but I'm a little ticked that I can't find any way to get the MP3 CD.
"Debris" is incredible, instant standout for me. I was really surprised that "So Far Away" had Mike singing.
So Far Away could have been an awesome track if they followed up with it. Certainly a nu-metal anthem.
I'll post my quote from the other thread since I just realized no one is actually posting there. I know others have said most of this already but I put timestamps in so you guys can hear the similarities for yourself. What I really find interesting is how Linkin Park sometimes reuses little bits and pieces of older demos into newer demos and so forth.
Man I think Mike's rapping is atrocious on these. I'm glad Chester was the main vocalist in MtM. Pepper seriously kicks ass. I like the tone that Meteora could have been
Officially an LPU member now But why whenever I go to a page in the LPU site (e.g. videos) I had to login again, only to bring me back to the main page/my account page?
