See this to me isn't house, but more electro/synth-pop...which is okay cause that's the theme of this contest :D. See guys? It isn't impossible to make a dance-pop remix :).

    hey guys,
I'm making music for about a month or two. So I'm quite new to music making.
Should I participate with this one? http://soundcloud.com/theblackdonut/linkin-park-blackout
It's not 100% finished yet, so what do you guys think? And does it fit the theme?

(btw;my English can be very bad sometimes, I'm from Holland =d)

Firstly thanks for joining LPA, I find it awesome that our remix series is starting to bring musicians out of the woodwork, so the fact you're finding out about our website just because of this contest means that word is starting to spread. Very cool.

As for your remix, the drums are very breakbeat so it takes away from the dance element in a way. However; the vocal effects, and the overall electronica inspired feel to it do give it a poppy feel which is good. Dance/Synth/Electro-Pop is a very very hard genre to get exactly right (hence why we did three categories in one), and what makes your remix great is it's unpredictability. I fully expected a dubstep like bass drop after the intro but instead got a very electronic based remix. It's not 100% following the theme, but it sounds very good. Up to you if you want to make this your official entry :).

This REALLY fits the theme, probably the closest to what we've been looking for so far this contest. Keep it up. Some vocals/sample hits seem to come in a little off beat or far too early (as in before the drums), so you might want to give it a good glance over, but I love the ending!

yeah, put this through as my entry please......:)

i didn't search for a contest, i found you through doing a google search on linkin park remix's, as i wanted to compare mine with other peoples efforts.
plus i had already finished this tune before finding this site, so sorry i didn't quite find you that way.

dont want to get into a debate about what dance and pop is too much, but pop is derived from the word popular, and are you saying you cant dance to breakbeat and that it cant be popular ?

anyhow like i said, yes please consider my entry as http://soundcloud.com/glen-orpheus/waiting-for-the-end-down-right

    thanx again Derek......Glen Orpheus (",)

That's actually why we accepted it, cause even with breakbeat drums it's still "pop" and you can still "dance" to it, thus "dance-pop".

And in that case, entry accepted. Hopefully you stick around and post more, you seem very intelligent and we could use some intelligent discussion around here :).

That's frekin amazing. Especially the intro.

This is great too, but I honestly think the kick could have more punch, along with the other drums as well. Nice job though.
