As much as I love this remix, I have to say that you layered everything a bit too heavily. There's no real distinction between the different tracks and they kind of just all hit your ears as a giant blaring sound. The fact that everything's so loud in this mash-up actually makes it a bit tough to hear the lyrics, too.

Honestly, just mashing up Linkin Park with Linkin Park isn't going to likely win the competition. While it no doubt will sound good, we want something that completely sounds out of left field.

Not to self promote, but here's an example of something "different":

A new wave 80s band, with Linkin Park.

I understand what you're saying but a mashup is a mashup. Regardless of which artists it features, if it's more than one song combined, it's a mashup. I also understand that combining LP with another artist would have been favorable, but I knew that entering a mashup containing only LP would be the only surefire way to keep my piece both original when compared to everyone else's as well making it more difficult for myself to find acapella pieces that would fit into the song. I don't really even care if I win or not. I'm just here to share my talent and to hear everyone else's work.

Out of the 64 listens on soundcloud and the 13 views on youtube, you're the only person to comment on the audio levels. Considering that no one else has said anything, I'm pretty sure you should probably adjust the bass and treble on your speakers. I do audio work for a living. I know what I'm doing.

You know, I've never had an issue with any other music before, but it's not out of the question that my levels are off. But I just wonder, out of a total of 77 views on SoundCloud and YT, do you really expect to get qualitative criticism? Not as an affront to you, but I know from personal experience in digital art (which gives my opinion as much weight as 77 combined views) that it takes on average 200 views (and usually a couple dozen comments) before I get any real quality critiques. That goes for my literature posts as well.

But again, I'll try tweaking my levels to something different than I've used for everything else and see if that makes it better.

I've listened to it on both of my PC's, which both have completely different sound setups, my phone and my PS3 and I can hear and understand all of the vocals clearly on all of them. And it's not just random people listening to my track. It's Nuburo, Biophobic, Ptto911, LinkinGabo, etc.. I'm sure they would have told me if it was shit. Especially DJ Int3nse, MaggotTheory and Rocket Skates. Like I said before, I don't care if I win or lose. But this is just silly.

Great haul so far in this month! I'll try and see if I can pull off my mix. Though I'm such a perfectionist it'll probably take forever! ;)

Calm down Majiks, you don't have to take constructive criticism so personally.

You know, if you want to make it as an artist you're going to have to learn to be able to take criticism a whole lot better. No offense, but you're being hostile for no apparent reason and it's really coming off the wrong way to me and others in here.

Has it ever occurred to you that these people (including myself) are trying to help you? We're trying to help make your music even better to help increase your chances of winning this competition. Usually a remix competition wont do that. Typically with that you're on your own, with absolutely no critique or comments from others, and it's "let the best man win". Here, our members try to help *every* artist reach their true potential and skill. That even applies to my comment about having to do something special to stand out. It wasn't directed at you (even though you took it that way), and more as a helpful comment towards everyone in here.

Acting like a know-it-all in response to everyone because of your "extensive music knowledge" doesn't make you seem like you know anything more than anybody else in this thread, it makes you look like a jerk. I don't care if you're a full time producer, studied music/guitar theory and went to college or whatever for music, if you're going to give the finger to the opinions of the general public...it's going to hurt you in the end. It's okay to politely disagree but to tell someone their ears/system are faulty is just rude. So please change your attitude. Cause right now, you're not really painting yourself in a good light.

There are parts of your mix, Majik, where everything starts to become a bit cluttered and the vocal are mixed relatively low...

Nice. It just gets a little messy towards the end.

EDIT: Just realised some others feel this way too.
