Totally misunderstood me. Lately, I've been fucking loving all metal music I've heard. When Derek said less-EDM, my first thought was: "why not a death metal MMU?". So I suggested it. And while writing it, a couple of thoughts popped into my head. 1. It's much harder to make a metal remix of a song, than an EDM remix is. 2. Majority of the fanbase these days (at least the regularly active remixers), do not listen to a lot of metal. 3. Metal kind of demands guitars, something that a lot of remixers wouldn't be able to utilize in their music. 4. Entries would probably be at an all time low. So that's why I said my idea is bad, not the idea of this months MMU. Lastly, I'd like to point out how much I love and respect the Linkin Park remix community. I recently listened to Broman's edit of the new BMTH track on Soundcloud, and the next song that started playing was a MMU entry. This resulted in me listening to older MMU entries and other remixes for over an hour. Decay, Confetti Parade, m_macdonald, Cypher, zwier.Z., Lizzi, Zak... everyone just does great stuff all the time. So it's kinda unfair to center your whole post around respect for community when I've never said anything disrespectful. I've probably heard Reliving Things more times than Recharged.
Why can't we just remix and stop misunderstanding eachother? It seems like this is a thread full of misunderstandings. More remixes, less BS.
There sure are some memorable tunes to have come out of his community, nothing but pride for that. Metal would be difficult to pull off, and yes I don't think many people would have electric guitars at their disposal. Rather than just swaying to raw theme like metal, why not something in between? Maybe an ambiguous theme like 'punk' could be good, since that would include both electronic & non-electronic tracks. You could make anything from a Refused-inspired song to something like DIOYY's remix of "The Catalyst" (which I saw somewhere was classified as 'electro-punk').
I had a featured track that month and I took it down off of my Soundcloud because of how much I didn't like it. I also made a new goal for myself, which was to have something else on my soundcloud get more listens than that track. Needless to say, I've accomplished that.
My entry. I'm real proud of this one. https://soundcloud.com/the-almighty...lectro-housenu-disco-entry-skin-to-bone-remix I can't wait to hear what everyone else does.
I have been mentioned. I can die happy now. Having said that, I'm almost certain I don't have the necessary skills to create something that fits the genre this month. I'll try, but I'm not too confident about it xD
Just listen to a few songs within the genre to get familiar with it I didn't have much experience with the genre and I'm the first and only entry so far You can do it.
I thought: "they wont put the next song, it would be too predictable" so i wanted to be crafty, I remixed Until it's gone!
