This is a pipe dream, but a double album would be awesome. The first disc could be guitar driven and the second disc could be electronic driven.
What bothered me the most after my first listen through of THP is that the record, especially ending it with ALITS, felt like a swan song. ALITS is particular felt like a "best of Linkin Park" type of song, especially because it sounds like so many other songs from previous albums. I really hope this isn't true obviously because I feel the band still has their edge sonically. I think the best way forward to a new album would be to mix the rawness and guitar driven style of THP with the electronics of ATS. While Living Things was advertised as a mix of LP's past and present, it wasn't really like that at all. I think the only "firecracker" song from LT was LITE and Victimized. Other than that most of the songs were pretty medium to low energy.
Linkin Park has shown time and time again that they have the ability to write very moving lyrics. (Half of MTM and most/all of ATS is written very well) Unfortunately, I feel that's been an area that was lacking in the past two records, excluding Mike's verses on ALITS and Mark The Graves.
Something NON AGGRESSIVE. Man. I want something like all the 80s rock bands did Something like Guns N Roses or something ANd something there we could here Mr.Hahn.
Less aggresive Guitars and more to "original" rock. that would be cool Will never happen but i can dream what i want But tbh. I really didnt need another aggresive ALbum.
One thing is for sure, it will be the last album. Honestly I never envisioned them shifting to a rock sound for this record, I sincerely can't say what the fuck Mike has in mind next after dissing his own indie-vibe demos.
I would love something like that. An Appetite for Destruction or Use Your Illusion by LP, with a proper electronic work by Mr. Hahn would be amazing... but I don't think it's going to happen I would be happy with the electro folk album they didn't release
Hunting Party has a lot of ATS elements to it that people are neglecting, I don't see them continuing the "aggressive" angle, but I think this is the sound they'll continue for a while. Maybe with a tad more electronic elements next time, but this album sounds well, they love playing it, and has some of their best critical response in years.
There's no way they're dropping the aggressive sound in the next few years after all these statements by the band.
Well maybe for LP7 , but i think that Chesters voice wont do it that long. They have to reduce the screams in the next years...
Thanks to THP LP have now made that "heavy album" that I've been wishing for since MTM Now ideally my next wish that I've also been hoping for is for the band to make really "dark" album. Now that doesn't nessisarily mean heavy too, but it will hold up with the bands "anti radio pop" stance at the moment. At least in a slightly different way Something really atmospheric, chilling and moody. A lá : "the Requiem"; "Fallout/The Catalyst" transition, the bridge in "Step Up"; The ending of "Until it Breaks"; song in the "Mall" trailer etc.... An album full of stuff like that would literally be my dream LP record
I'm hoping for another guitar driven, heavier album, but with a wee bit more of an electronic influence.
