As the title of the thread suggests, We're entering the 12th year of Linkin Park Underground, and that means a new CD filled with unheard tracks So what do YOU think is going to be on the CD this year? In the last few years, we've seen demos, demos of demos, alternate versions and even some tracks dating back 15 years to the bands beginnings. What are you hoping or expecting to see on the CD this time around?
I still expect Rolling in the Deep to be done in studio version but that's not gonna happen i think.. some demos will be fine but i want LP to do something acoustic/piano renditions of their songs.. or LPU 12: Ballads Reinterpretation.
I wouldn't mind seeing the 5 minute epic version of Powerless. Also still hoping for a live version of Hit the Floor, I can also see a BURN IT DOWN demo (Buried at sea) finding its way there, seeing as how heavily its been heard on the radio and used in promotions
I have already said it a lot of times, but I'd love to hear those tracks that made Chester say" MTM will be our heaviest album yet" during the MTM era. Even if they eventually suck, I'm really curious about those tracks and the whole heaviest LP thing.
I'm curious about this as well. I wonder if it'll ever see the light of day though, considering how far we've gone from the MTM era.
Yep, apparently at one point during the MTM process, they were only working on "Heavy monster songs" (chester words, again ), and this is why Chester told Rolling Stones magazine back in 2005/2006 that MTM would be their heaviest album yet. At that time, he aslo said in a LPU chat there was a day he couldn't enter the studio because of all the screamings he did the day before And yes, I'm doubting those demos will ever see the light of the day, but one can hope, after all we got some HT demos more than 10 years later ^^
He was also quoted as saying that the band's fifth album would be "[dealing] with politics, faith and other things" in an NME article, though it's possible they missed the actual context there. On-topic: I expect more demos and shit. Maybe one or two things pertaining to the "Living Things" material.
What I want: Some Meteora demo w/ lyrics (Take Away my Pride is a good choice). Few MtM demos w/ lyrics (heavy demos, like Qwerty19 said). ATS demos w/ lyrics (C'mon LP, we don't have any unheard demo of a album with only 10 complete songs!) LT demos w/ lyrics (It's little early, but, why not?) Xero Tape songs with Chester vocals (I can dream, right?) PICTUREBOARD!!!!!!!! This seems like a LP Demos collection, and unlikely to happen but, who knows? PS: Nothing against live songs or instrumental demos, but I think that live songs can be available by band of another ways (single CD, DSPs...) and instrumental songs seems like uncomplete (songs like Pale, Halo and others would be awesome with lyrics) and we know that Linkin Park have a lot of unheard work finished.
Me too! When I first heard the tape, I was like ''Thank God Chester joined the band!'' EDIT: We should really tell this to LP somehow...
Hahah! Maybe they, or Adam, are reading this now. For those who want to see covers on an LPU CD, I remember hearing that getting the rights to put songs on a CD that were originally done by other artists is a huge pain in the ass and also costs a lot of money. I think it came up when asking if we would ever see a studio version of "Wish." So, anyways, I've given up hope on covers.
The last few years have been demo heavy, but they did release the Live Around the World collection of live tracks, and they're doing LIVING THINGS REMIXED. Where does that leave us, a cover album, a full instrumental album or another LP8. I am excited for this one, so many options. Just to think that only a few other large bands do this for their fans (U2 etc)
