To be fair, I used to dislike TLTGYA as well I like it now but it's still bottom 2 on MTM along with No More Sorrow
Seriously, I don't even need words. This smiley captures my emotions perfectly. Anyway, I think TLTGYA is one of LP's best songs.
Minutes To Midnight was a great way for the band to change their sound and still retain some of the essence of HT and Meteora. From that album I find Valentine's Day, In Pieces, What I've Done and Leave Out All The Rest to be the best songs, or at least those that appeal to me the most. It's always difficult to speak of Linkin Park best songs because from all the albums the only two I skip some songs every time I play are MTM and ATS.
There are a few Linkin Park songs that just haven't grown on me even after many years since their release or there are songs I used to love in my teenage years but I just don't particularly care for now, so I'll list them below: Don't Stay - one of those songs I adored at 15 years of age but don't really care for now, the lyrics are cheesy and I just don't care for the song at all. Somewhere I Belong - my girlfriend will hate me saying this as she loves this song but again, I don't care for this song anymore and I'll always skip it. I like listening to it on some live versions but this is another track where I disliked the slow rapping and the lyrics were very poor and repetitive. In Between - I never liked this song when I heard it the first time on Minutes To Midnight and I still don't like the song now. Mike does a good job singing it but it needs more layers, it just sounds so bland to me and feels like it is missing something. I'd have preferred No Roads Left to appear on this album over this song. I'll Be Gone - A song I don't dislike but one I always skip as it just doesn't sound as good as it was described and I guess this is one track I was really looking forward to from the descriptions by the band and felt very disappointed by the result, some of the key instrumentation is buried in the sound (poor production on this song) and one where the Primo demo or the remix version of Recharged sounds way better. Other songs I would mention are Easier To Run, Robot Boy, Skin To Bone and In My Remains - these are tracks I can still listen to today but ones I would say are okay at best.
I can listen to shit like Don't Stay still but FUCK Skin To Bone and Mark The Graves. I will cast those songs in a pit of molten fire.
From the non-single songs of THP I prefer A Line In The Sand to Mark The Graves, but those two for me are the best non-single songs from THP. They made a very good move to make a 6-minute epic song and should make more songs like that, despite the fact that I feel like people mostly listen to songs up to 4 minutes.
I'm sorry man. I'm not a fan of the instrumental and not enough lyrics to hold my interest. It just drags on for me and the melody is not my thing at all.
Haha, it's all good! I don't actually care if you dislike it. I think I like it so much because they have never done anything like it.
LOL as ya shouldn't Yeah I agree. It's definitely different and I'll give it that much credit. Even Skin To Bone is a lot more different than other songs too. Still, never can listen to them
From that album I love Roads Untravelled, COG, Burn It Down, Lost In The Echo and I´ll Be Gone. Until It Breaks and Powerless are a bit beter than Skin To Bone, but generally is one of my favorite LP records and it has extra credit for having been the album that introduced me to LP after having heard some songs on the radio as a kid.
Skin to Bone is one of the weakest tracks from LP in general. It's cool-sounding, and the instrumental sounds pretty nice when you take the effort to appreciate the different layers, but it just feels like it's missing a lot. Maybe if the lyrics were more meaningful or it had a stronger bridge or something, idk. Just feels like they're singing about nothing, same for MTG with "THE DARK THE LIGHT" chorus to me.
