    As per Lostprophets wiki page:

"On the 22nd of July 2009, Ian Watkins wrote 'Shooting the videos for the first two singles this Saturday. Fact.' on his Twitter page. This means the videos for the singles will be filmed on the 25th of July 2009."

Which is today. I have been waiting ages for this album, which has apparently already been mixed and mastered. New single is set to hit the airwaves in August.

Anyone else thirsty for some new material from these guys?

They've spoken about the new album a lot on Twitter, I'm interested in hearing it. They also took the first interview regarding the new album the other day, or at least Mike did.

Has it been made public yet?

I recall before them saying it would be darker and heavier, but I think that was before they scrapped the thing and rewrote it.

Though apparently Jamie said on his twitter "people are asking what the new album will sound like, whether it will be like the old stuff, to me it has the bite that SS had, with the song-ability of LT but personality of FSOP. The dark element is brought by Ian and most of his lyrics... like a buff evil ninja disguised as a Male model haha. It's a classy rock sorta heavy without sounding like bad metal. but catchy as feck, and also a little more grown up".

That definitely sounds great, so here's hoping!

I didn't even know they scrapped a complete album to re-write it :\

What was the reasoning behind that?

Well, just on their wiki it says:

"Soon after, the band confirmed with Rock Sound magazine that they had "ditched" an album's worth of material and were continuing with writing and recording."

but the link to that reference is broken now. I assume they just weren't happy with it.

Because Bob Rock pulled a Don Gilmore on them and they then decided that they'd rather produce everything themselves, if I'm not mistaken.

They've mentioned it a few times that I recall, but that's pretty much the gist of everything I've seen them say.

I think that SS is probably my favorite album by them. If it sounded like that (but more mature) I'd be happy.

I keep trying to choose a favourite album, but it never works. Oddly though, I think I've listened to SS the least...I originally loved TFSOP, then got addicted to LT, and SS seemed always to be kind of stuck in the middle. But really, all 3 are great, so any mix thereof can't heard in my eyes.

I can't wait to hear the new album. I just hope it's a little less poppy than Liberation Transmission. Not to take anything away from that album because I thought it was great, but it doesn't hold a candle to Start Something.

Yeah LT was a little too mainstream for me. Especially "Rooftops", it felt like he was repeating that chorus about 100 times.

Rooftops was amazing when they played it live though. Especially when I saw them play it before it was released 'cause they taught the crowd the words to it lmfao.

    Standing on the rooftops
    Everybody scream your HEART OUUUUUUT!

They said that with LT they wanted to make a "big pop album, and repeated that the next one would be less poppy though, so your wish *should* be granted unless they are as good at describing their music as another band with the same initials :p.

"Start Something" has a special place in my heart, and it's probably my favourite Lostprophets album. It's got a good variety of songs ranging from "Start Something" to "Sway", and it balances all that so well, makes them all a single cohesive piece of work.

I didn't really like what I heard from "Liberation".

I can't wait to hear their new stuff.

I liked LT even though it was 'poppy', but a mix of ST and LT would be perect this time.

    We'll see.

I'd like to hear some of the elements of TFSOP brought back like a bit of the screaming and the sampling and the overall energy that album had, but try to keep the pop sensibility they have now.

I think it may be because I got into the band when TFSOP very first came out instead of hearing say 'Start Something', then going back to hear their old work, but their debut just seemed to be a lot more exciting than their later albums, that's not to say I don't like SS and LT though, because I do.
