Lostprophets will begin recording their follow-up to 'Start Something' on September 1 in Los Angeles, but frontman Ian Watkins is keeping his cards close to his chest on how the new material is shaping up. "Last time I said, 'It's fucking wicked!' and next thing I'm hearing is like 'Ian Watkins: egotistical c**t'," he says. "We're not the sort of band that’s going to churn out the same album again and again, that’s just not us. It might surprise some people but so far everybody in the band is really, really happy with the songs and that's what counts for us." The band are aiming for an early 2006 release. Excellent news! I thought there was a nice difference between The Fake Sound Of Progress and Start Something so I expect this new album to be different, like Ian said.
i really cant wait... i hope its good - its going to be hard to top Start Something and Fake Sound Of Progress Fake Sound was my favourite album for ages and when they released SS i wasnt expecting it to be as good as it was. hopefully they do the same this time round and impress me again!
My point is that they've been getting better with every release. It's a trend they're not going to break, if they're smart.

Sure, you can make your sophomore better than your debut, but the trick is to keep upping your last effort time after time. That's where it gets difficult.

What if they've given all the effort they have to give... they can't go over 100% (that "Give 110%" line is bull)... so technically, they'd have to start over. I hope their next album is at 0% so that they can continue the trend even longer! ... :chemist:
hope they continue in a different direction, because start something was more emo and melodic than fsop, in my opinion, but another step in that direction might make them too poppy for my tastes.
I can't wait for the album. I wonder how this would sound like ... considering how FSOP and SS were so different.

I think they need to get back to where they were with thefakesoundofprogress. Most of their work from before or since just doesn't do it for me.
I think they've shown that they won't just go back to a sound that they had. I'm expecting something very different then FSoP. Which, I agree, is bad in a way. FSoP was awesome.
They had two releases before thefakesoundofprogress.
which were they. I can't find anything on them.
They had two demo tapes the first one in 97 "here comes the party" got sent to metal hammer mag and got 10/10 the other was "para todas las putas celosas" in 98 but that was only given out to friends. linkage. not releases though.
