looking for contributors

I hope there's no rule against making a post like this... If there is, go right ahead and delete it, and I apologize already.

We're looking for a few contributors for our music site... We need writers for any of the following: show reviews, album reviews, interviews, photography, columns (opinionated music-related articles), etc.

There are some perks... Free tix, passes, CD's... But you have to work to make it happen.

So if you're interested, please drop us an e-mail at [email protected] - let us know how you could help out or even send us some examples of stuff you've written and such.

You can leave ALL the nu metal/ alt. rock album reviews on me. I bought at least 20 such CDs this year, and i'm pretty much informes about what's going on in the rock scence

 

I may be interested. Can you give me more information on this website, please?

Experiance wise, I've been writing CD reviews for awhile. If you'd like a sample I can send you a couple of the ones I posted on Epinions. Almost everything I listen to is some type of rock, but I don't box myself into one type of rock--over the past few days, for example, I've been listening to a lot of H.I.M and Rancid. Not many similarities there.

I'd also be very interested in column writing

 

I would love to help you, Nicole. I'm always getting new CDs, so I'd love to do some reviews and even previews. Let me know what I have to do.

 

I'd be happy to do columns considering everyone already wants to do album reviews. What kind of columns are you looking for, kind of like columns on genres or trends in music?

As far as show and album reviews, if you contribute full time for us, you won't need to purchase the albums or tickets. You'll get them free, so that's all taken care of. I would just need to know ahead of time what shows or albums you would want to review and then I can work on getting you your stuff... (tickets, cd's, photo passes, interviews, etc)

And as far as columns go, rants and raves about the music industry are always fun to read... opinions on anything music-related... bands... That kind of stuff.

Everything that gets posted is re-read by either a label, manager, or publicity group associated with signed bands, so we're looking for decent material. Unsigned bands obviously will probably be read by the band themselves only. Interviews will also be re-read by the bands, and we probably won't have many interviewers because we want completely unique questions; not the same old boring questions EVERY interviewer asks.

If you have other questions, please e-mail us. The site has been designed, and now we're looking at adding content, and I'll get back to you with some linkage soon.

 

I would love to some of that. Please let me, I love to do these sort of things.

And Will, you seem to be the guy that knows all the latest about all the bands out there today... Would you be interested in doing something along those lines on the site? Just posting daily band news... Anyone else interested in gathering up the latest stuff like that is welcome to as well.

We also have a featured band section we'll update monthly, so if you know of some good bands that deserve the publicity, we might as well add a contributor or two for that area too.

 

I would love to do something like that for you. It would be amazing. I have a lot of sources that I use so there should be a lot of new news every day. Should I still e-mail you about that? I can also write album reviews. I listen to a lot of music (I have over 150 albums on my computer as it is) and I'm always hearing about new music and whatnot, so I'd be good for writing reviews and things like that. Just let me know what you want me to do. lol.

 

Can you give us any more info about the site itself? How it came about, what it will be like and such? You said you'd need my mailing address in your email to me, and (no offense meant) but I want to make sure this is legit before I give it out

How the site came to be..... Well, I've been working for Riftrock.com for the past few months, and I just got tired of it, so a few of us decided we would start up a site of our own. A site that is totally interactive with the viewers, and one that's REAL. Real reviews, real interviews, nothing sugar-coated. We just have a love for music and want to spread it.
