But to please some of the more nitpicky members of these boards, I have moved this to the LIVING THINGS sub-forum .

This. It's the band experimenting to see if they can revisit older influences without sounding completely stale. To see if they can make a mixture of all of their albums, and bring back some of their old energy, but still move forward and try creative things.

And to be honest, they're succeeding in that regard. Yes there's familiarity to some of these tracks, but the tracks are also way different at the same time. LGM sounds nothing like a previous record. Maybe a bit like Fort Minor in spots but that's it.
